What upsets me most, is previously I thought the mancs won so many games because other teams gave up before playing, i.e. they had a psychological advantage of seeming invincible. This season they seem anything but invincible, they look frail and still teams are standing off them too scared to go for the jugular. neither's a 100% true - if there's anyone to match Gerrard for pace, stamina, strength it's Essien ( the other poss. person is Mash) and we didn't think Gerrard was a second striker a few seasons ago. Anyway all I was suggesting was a way of coping with man marking had we an alternative to Gerrard like Barry.

I guess one of the reason's we're interested in Barry is that when this happens Gerrard drops into midfield taking his man marker with him and Barry pushes up as the link for Torres.

Actually 3 Gerrard's would be perfect for us, one must be left footed though. Then the 3 behind Torres would all be Gerrard, let's see Essien man mark them !!!

They will concede goals. Interestingly even with a "tight defense" they've only been winning 1-0 mostly. To me this implies that their attack has been less effective since Berbatov arrived and they dropped their fluid 3 up front. If teams really want to beat United they can. The thing is United have a psychological hold over this league, teams give up before they even begin. However, I'm optimistic as our 4-1 victory has had an effect as far away as Europe with Porto believing they can beat them.
