thats only about 60% realistically at this level expecting 80% to be on target isn't asking that much IMHO still we are on our way, lets cheer to that and hope it continues

One could argue part of the reason for our poor start was down to Rafa persisting with Bellamy who clearly needs to improve if he's to have a future at Anfield if we must play 442 I think Crouch and Kuyt are our best choice as they tend to keep possession better and allow Gerrard to wonder infield from the right

I think the key to moving forward is to solve the Gerrard question Playing Gerrard on the right and the 2 strikers we've generally been using doesnt work anymore I think IF we need to play 2 strikers they should be Crouch and Kuyt ( though as I recall when Fowler started scoring last season suddenly ALL our strikers figured out how to score) for now I would go with 1 Striker and 3 man midfield and 2 wingers (451 )

thats just it, will our home "form" be enough to get us 4th as that's realistically the best we can aim for this season

Rafa is still putting out an unbalanced side, seems to me some of his new signings are taking us backward. Anyway the question is - does anyone think we'll qualify for the CL next year ? I'm beginning to doubt we will

I dont remember Pennant cutting in so much at Brum - therefore I conclude Rafa wants him to cut in more, maybe to be more of a goal threat ala Gonzales however I dont think this is Pennants game, and he should be allowed to stay out wide and do what hes good at crossing ( though if he were a regular goal threat it would solved the midfield problem, making us more a 433 team) I know people want scape goats but Pennant normally does an aweful lot of work protecting the Right back and contributes many good crosses in a game Personally I think the whole team is out of whack, its not Balanced at all - Rafa needs to solve the midfield problem ie where to play Gerrard

Despite a fantastic 2nd half against Tottenham, the side still looks unbalanced to me I think its all about the new dilemas facing Rafa, this is made more difficult now he seems determined to play 2 up front Seems to me Rafa has descided the solution to playing all three of Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko in Midfield is the play Gerrard as the RM But for Gerrard to be effective out there he needs the freedom to move about and not be chained to the RW - this is where Alves comes in I think the team will start to look more balanced when we get Alves for the Right, it will allow Gerrarder to move infield from time to time and control the game more

I'm not quite so sure, we are more attacking but we really look unbalanced on the right and when Gerrard plays LM we look worse

Arsenal have made 2 transfers where I wished we'd done that 1 Berkamp .... man we missed this type of player for years 2 Henry ... nuff said, but at the time Houllier had seen Owen and Heskey play for England U21 and be outstanding together so it was the safest choice ... .wrong one mind ( but thats hindsight) interestingly the double winning team had Henry and Berkamp as the lead strikers, finally finally we have someone capable of playing in the Berkamp mould ( Kuyt) but who will be our Henry ? Bellamy ?.. ha ha ha

hear hear, what surprises me most about Kuyt is that we finally have someone capable of playing in a 451 formation ( or which ever variation of that you want) and suddenly Rafa wants to play 442 ... go figure
