we have till midnight to get his registration papers --- should have given him a lift back last night

pre season training should be interesting next year - I suspect we will only be after one player this summer Alves -if we get him soon then pre season training could start alot sooner and lead to our getting of to a flyer next season

<smug mode>I predicted this behaviour earlier - </smug mode> Re Mascherano not playing more for WHU - allegedly their is a clause in HIS contract that requires more payments if he plays more - this clause is not in Tevez's contract

if we get Mascherano we could actually play all 5 ! ( though I would prefer Kewell on the left ) how weird would that be ?

I've said the same thing time and time again - look at Mellor ace in the reserves but just not first team material at Liverpool - the problem is we need a way of exposing the young players to competitive games without the first team suffering - I don't think the cup is enough ( in its current format ). I think the lack of competitive games severely affected the development of Pongolle and Le Tallec ( though we will never know if they were good enough ) Right now the best policy is to play the young ones in the cups till the jan window, if we are still in the cups they stay - else go out on loan for the rest of the season - preferably with an attack based team in a good league ( non of the Sunderland long ball stuff)

Logically I think they'll agree and let Mascherano ('Cher LOL) move to us - by leaving this till the last minute they reduce the chances of someone else asking for the same thing during this window and give themselves till the summer to reform the rule

Nice shopping list, not sure about Hunelaar though - also would Alves be good enough at RB ? I see him as more of a RW ( yes I know he'll play both if we get him )

I'm just hoping we can sign him it would make next summers transfer so much more clear cut -- go for Alves

or more optimistically to stop other people applying for the same concession in this window and giving them till summer to fix the hole

Fifa have just had elections and Platini won - much as I liked him as a player I dont think he'll be good for English football -- we had better finish 1st or worst 2nd in the league from now on
