Yep, I was very much thinking/ hoping that what I was seeing was a result of serious mitigation around Jota, new players settling, old players fading and the delayed hangover/transition from Klopp, but it’s become an inexplicable and inexcusable mess and despite all the context it’s clear we should be doing a lot better. The fundamentals just aren’t there, the basics that would give any credibility to the idea it can be turned around are missing

Fair enough- and yes, every game I watch (involving us or not) I see teams who are better organised and have more energy, more individual and collective dynamism and more speed with and without the ball. its just hard to fathom how such great players can be so bad

It certainly looks like it, but is there anything to substantiate the notion that we don’t train properly and that the players fitness isn’t being properly managed? It seems to be received wisdom on here and it might explain what I’m seeing with my eyes, but is there any actual evidence?

Nothing but gratitude and love for this man, feel privileged to have seen him play and seen his time here. sad that he won’t go out in a blaze of glory but there are very few players in the history of the game that have given us so many incredible moments and memories

Yup this is a lad who you know is going to be doing absolutely everything he is asked to do, he’s a model professional. An absolute legend in Italy and we’ve reduced him to this.
