  1. The number 9 market is limited. I do like Ekiteke if Frankfurt are realistic about the price. Technically sound, quick, just seems the one that could explode. Like the idea of Mateta as possibly a cheap Jota replacement though. 1 year on contract whilst the number 9 market matures. Or, considering how well Wirtz linked with Boniface, that porto forward that failed his Chelsea medical last year. With VVD and Salah staying and Wirtz joining, we are going to be the preferred choice of anyone we go in for...... Delap seems popular because he is cheap but could go the way of Evan Ferguson. Delap was massively outshone but Ekiteke in the recent France England U21 game. But would have both, could be see Delap being a good at replacement for Jota. Jota left out against Brighton, if left out again tomorrow surely he is off too?
  2. If Wirtz signs, I wonder what the striker profile will be? He worked well with a battering ram in Boniface so maybe a Sesko or Gyorkeres, or a technical fluid number 9 like Ekiteke. Real shame Nunez never had the composure
  3. We also have another year option on Allison's contract.
  4. Yep. I reckon this, both in and outs. If we are going to have a large turnover of players then we need them in before the start of pre season.
  5. Can't help feel there is a Clemence mirror here. Clemence left for one last big contract and feel when Klopp announced he was leaving Alli felt it was a good time to go to Saudi and we said let us get his replacement arranged and he can leave in a year. Hope I'm wrong but Mama not coming to be no.2 so unless we have a PL loan arranged it all seems Alli off is all lined up. If that is the case I hope they announce one we have won the league and he gets the send off he deserves
  6. All the briefing to the journos and VVD and Slott saying it will be a big summer suggests a lot of business already lined up both incoming and outgoing. Really wouldn't surprise me if.most.of.the squad has a price and we'd happily deal if that is met. Likes of Jota who has 2 years left, not being offered a new deal he'd want, we'd flog if we get our price.
  7. Think our league game with them will be sandwiched between their semi? Brentford home will be a physical battle, can see him resting a few and not taking any chances.......
  8. Swinging or sturgeon?
  9. I can see Slot moving him back to the midfield 2 and bringing in another attacking midfielder. He won't want to lose his energy or pressing
  10. The judgment is only the beginning. Whoever loses (especially if it is City) will just appeal delaying any punishment for at least a year. Or alternatively if they don't get CL this year I can see them negotiating a points deduction this year as not much difference in revenue between EL and not being in Europe at all.
  11. Looks like Potter plays 5 at the back away from home, set plates, hit on break. Going to need concentration and patience. Could really see it being a game for Elliott in tight spaces, picking a pass/shot.
  12. Theory is a decent ran club plans 3or4 windows ahead and refreshes as they go but we haven't done that. Even though I can see allot needing to be moved on I just can't see us risking integrating 8 players, too risky meaning we end up keeping players past their decline date making it harder. For example, Nunez is gone but we should also be moving Jota on as we won't be negotiating an extension this summer for him and he is too injury prone to justify his place. But I can't see us integrating 2 no. 9s especially as there doesn't seem to be gettable no.9s in this market that are on the cusp of being the finished article. So can't see us replacing those 2 for developing strikers such as Ekitike and Delap. Unless they are so Uber confident in their models and identifying players that they believe they can integrate 9 players in one summer.....

    Kelleher

There is suggestion they have a deal in place for Trafford from Burnley.
  14. There is a huge reset coming and it is filtering through the players. Virg and Mo playing like they don't want to get injured with no contract to rely on. The fringe players looking at the players Infront that are knackered and their form gone and still not trusted to play more, so they must think they are off in the summer and hence playing within themselves so they don't pick up a long term injury. They 'should' win the next 3 games and that will likely be enough but it has a whiff of massive change is coming.....
  15. When he was appointed I read a few comments from Feyenord fans that he was absolutely ruthless when it came to moving players on he felt were either past it or were not capable of carrying out his instructions/fitting his style of play. Reckon there could be a lot Of change in the summer with the odd surprise....
  16. Maybe overlooking things, but an argument could be made that Mo and Virgil are playing like they don't want to be injured as they don't have a contract to fall back on. They seem a bit off the pace compared to earlier in the season adding justification to Hughes/Edwards resistance in handing them a big contract. My gut tells me they are off unless they accept a new contract with a noticeable drop in wages/more appearance/trophy related remuneration.
  17. Some of the prices teams are placing on their players is insane. Reckon it will be a slow summer as clubs struggle to negotiate down teams unless the PSR 30th June presents some opportunities. Trouble is, if this summer is a rebuild we need the players in as early as possible to mould into a team.
  18. We've all become a lot more angry at players for their life choices. When Rush went, be it I was a kid at the time I just couldn't understand how it was possible. Wasn't really angry. I do remember him doing an April fools joke in Shoot magazine where he was decked out in Everton kit pretending he had moved to them. Could you imagine that happening now? Salah decked out in UTD Kit as an April Fool? In Italy it seems players go to their rivals more frequently and it is more accepted even with the Ultras fan culture.
  19. Can't see us spending 45m on kerkez 40m on Frimpong who is more of a winger than multifunctional fullback. No matter our budget or sales can't see us spending so much on full backs. Reckon the right back will be a youngster as Backup to Bradley. That feyenord lad Read.

    Welcome VvD

Yep I think so too though oscillate between despair and hope. Will have a major impact on who we can attract to replace them. No longer do they get to play with 3 world class players but it is a rebuild, a complete reset with all the uncertainty around that. Only saving grace is that a lot of teams in the same position. both manc teams in the same reset position, Chelsea is a basket case and Arsenal will carry on buying centre backs instead of strikers and a goalkeeper. I think that is exactly it. We have made them offers they have said not quite there yet and we have said go win the league have a look what else is out there and we will talk again once you have the juicy bonus from winning the league.
  21. Not that outlandish. Three are out of contract and we can't force them to sign. Must have been a conversation with Alli last year otherwise it made no sense to go for Mama fir £25m if we are not going to play him for 2 seasons. Does seem with klopps announcement last Jan, Alli took it as an end of an era and a good time to go and we possibly said fine but give us a year to get a replacement. We then get maybe £60m from Saudi
  22. He is but we have an option for another year to 2027. Think he could be off this summer, we are not the type of club to have a 25m back up keeper, so either Mama goes on loan to a PM team or Alli gets sold
  23. What do we reckon for the summer? Can't see Mama being bought for £25m to sit on the bench so does that mean Allison is off to Saudi for big money to get the BBQ crew back together or is the plan to send Mama to a PL team on loan for a season then flog Allison next summer?
  24. Can't see Newcastle selling Isaak. Won a trophy, likely to push on and grab a CL place and Saudis will want to start having Newcastle next seen as a big club. Maybe Saudis buying Diaz and Nunez for big money is to encourage us to look elsewhere think they'd flog Gordon to us though.....
  25. I don't think his passing is snappy enough, takes a bit too long to make the pass, fair point about Enrique. Just get the impression that Slott has gone off Him a little bit recently with going off a couple of times with fatigue/cramp. Just a feeling. Happy for it to be complete bulls if it means him staying, think he's great.
