I would have thought we would have had a couple more friendlies. Wouldn't surprise me if there were a couple of behind closed door games. We could well have a lot of new players and help integrate them and help with rhythm
-
We have a data led analytics department and will have 3 players for each position based on data depending on the direction Slot and Hughes want to go. Ie whether a player that can play all 3 forwards roles or an out and out striker. Edwards and Hughes will deal with their responsibilities with sensitivity and class. It will happen, not doing it isn't great, saying to Nunez well we were going to flog you but now can't, or putting a huge amount of pressure on young Danns. Horrible, horrible situation, but I suspect it will happen quicker than we think as another club will likely pursue who we want forcing our hand sooner than we would like.

He is slightly older than Wirtz I think. You'd want as many die hard Liverpool fans playing for us but he'd only be a sub for us. He just doesn't have the Athleticism needed in the PL for a top club. Large parts of the game yesterday especially in the second half he was bypassed and couldn't get near the play. For us he has been best as a sub when we are chasing the game, more space when the game is stretched. If I was him I would go abroad, his skill set is perfect for Spain or Germany.

Other point with Chelsea's turnover of players is the transaction cost. Each transfer will have substantial agent costs. Also, they still have a lot of baggage to lose that won't be easy, likes of Broja, Sterling. Sterling is on huge money
-
One of the developments next season will be who takes the majority of the free kicks at goal or whether it will be shared more. A few that could be useful, Macalister, Szobo, not sure if Wirtz took them for Bayer.
-
Elliot is a great option off the bench when the game is stretched and he has more space. Too one footed and lacks that acceleration. A real shame as he loves the club. I think with our fringe players if we can use him to get a player from a team that we want but is hard to get that would be great ie a Baleba or a Wharton.

That isn't Hato? Surely.....
-
A given. I remember with Klopp... Once they realised he was Him they gave him a 7 year contract. I would hope and expect the same approach with Slott. I reckon as a manager there is no better place to be a manager with the empowerment, support and patience than us.
-
Yes, statistically he is similar aerially. And maybe they feel he can be coached to be better in the air. Plenty of short centre backs that are great in the air. Definitely warming to the idea as he is a duel monster that can play. Slot is massive on the importance of winning duels. Towards the end of the window I reckon there will be a big turnover of players. Slott is ruthless and will happily tell people they won't get a lot of game time and best to move on. Can see both Tsimi and robbo going, gomez, konate if he doesn't extend. Massive upheaval for a championship winning defense. I Like Guehi, just can't see Parish accepting our valuation. Unless...... We start using some of the players they want as a compromise. We will buy Guehi for £50m if they sign Elliott for £60m etc I do wonder if the likes of Elliot and Doak will go to teams we want and get players from to grease the deal like Quansah. We sold Kellerher cheaply and quickly to Brentford, I wonder if there is a player there we will get once we have moved some players on. Maybe Collins...

I thought of Torres but my feeling when we bought him was that he was more an Atletico golden boy, came through the ranks, played loads as a youngster, captain so more associated with the club and what he had done with that club as opposed Spain or seen as a top 3 striker in the world. Always thought it was more to do with Benitez being here than the club, though he did have that tattoo. Believe Wirtz is a top 3 attacking creative player in the world right now. Because the assumption was always he'd end up at Bayern he's been an after thought in some respects but he is genuinely tier 1 of the new generation. He has come to us as he sees us a top tier world class club to match his ambition, not because there is a German manager here which could have been argued if he came couple of years back. We seem to be now, everyone's first choice. If we show a bit of interest we are where players want to go. When did that last happen?
-
Trying to explain to my boys when we last did this type of genuinely top tier world class creative player signing. Barnes and Beardsley. Can't think of anything more recent. Coutinho's stocks were down, litmanen was old and injury prone. This is genuinely huge.
-
Been looking at a few compilations if Guehi, and he looks a hell of a defender, front footed, strong as an ox and genuinely 2 footed and good on the ball. Could even deputise at the 6 position Really just worry about his height and aerial duels. Next year if how would the opposition target our team? If he and Frimpong on the right of defence I Reckon they will pepper that side with high balls. We also zonal mark too at set pieces. Anyway, if we do buy him it will be very late in the window, Parish is as difficult as Levy. Can't see him accepting what we'd expect to pay unless Guehi makes it clear it is only us and is happy to go on a free next year.... Maybe that will be the way, he comes in next year on a free to replace Konate that leaves on a free
-
Only way I see it happening is if they use us to get some PIF money into them. Ie Saudi give us £180m for Nunez and Diaz and we use £150m of that for Isak.
-
Details on the clauses will mean both sides can claim different figures. Bild saying 140m euros for fixed and achievable add-ons and 10m euros for add-ons of extraordinary success ie more unliythan.likey. so Leverkusen can claim 150m and we can claim 140 which seemed to be the amount we valued him at. So reckon it could be &2m for each year he wins the ballon Dor over the first 5years or something like that. Anyway.... Reckon he will be the best player in the league by Xmas.
-
Now wolves have almost £100m, maybe they firm up their interest in Elliott and Jota.
-
We are arguably going to have to e strongest goalkeeping roster in Europe. Alli gets injured for around a third of the season so Mama should get enough games. Do think it is his last season
-
Think Jarod goes on loan. Shows how rich the premier League is when he can earn more as a third choice, not even making the squad than first choice in Hungary. Not surprising but we must have shown him a pathway to the first team though. I wonder if the Mama deal has fallen through
-
We have a signing..... https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpool-agree-deal-sign-goalkeeper-armin-pecsi Third choice keeper? Seems he has a lot of first team experience to come in as third choice.....
-
With the club world cup window deadline Tuesday, I'd have thought there would have been more transfer movement which would then kick start other deals. Seems the CV ridiculous prices teams are asking especially forwards is slowing things down. Struggle to see how Al Hillal would get a Nunez deal over the line in just a few days
-
He wanted him last year but he couldn't get the work permit. Guess that won't change
-
Loved him as a player. No idea as a coach. Hope he is a modern innovative coach and not just a Dutch bloke that used to play for us. Suppose the question is, if Slots assistant he wanted to bring with him from Feyenord was blocked due to work in permit issues, what about Kuyt?
-
Can't see how Ramos would be a cheap money ball option as he went to PSG for around £50m a little over a year ago. So unless it is a cheap loan with an option to replace Jota then see it more as putting pressure on the likes of Frankfurt and Leipzig to be realistic with their prices.
-
I think in this case Ekitike would push for us. He will have seen us Signing Wirtz and Frimpong and our project if him being the starter 9 here and he would be competing with Delap, Jackson and god knows who else in a world cup year too. Surely the 8 year contracts doesn't outweigh all that....?
-
I think Robbi is angling for a new contract and can see him taking reduced terms for a solid length. Cant flog Cody. His numbers are decent and he is one of the good lad leaders in the grp. We take all that for granted but looking down the lancs road with their wingers of late, Radford, garancho, Sancho, Antony, greenwood and now Cunha. Key part of our success is that the team has always been greater than the sum of its parts.
-
For me it is about the the raw tools that Slott can coach from. I see him a bit like Grav that Slott turned into an elite defensive midfielder, reckon Ekiteke has that technical ability that Slott can coach into an elite centre forward
