  1. With City being found guilty and possibly large points hit resulting in at least relegation.... Who can we pick up from there? They will be loathed to sell to us but when we sue something could happen. O'Reilly? Haaland likely to abroad. Gvardiol, Anderson, bouaddi? Could be quite the fire sale.....
  2. I just hope, and all I have left is hope, that the Sarr briefing is to pressure Brighton to drop their price for Mintah or someone else. Surely we aren't going to suddenly change our approach to transfers for Sarr???
  3. Not against selling Gapko for the fee speculated. He has been mediocre for a long while but does get a good amount of goals and assists. My concern is that this late in the window we will replace him with a more mediocre player for little less than the fee we receive. Seems more to do with getting the big wages off the squad....
  4. If similar output then it can't be either Mintah or Sarr. And.... If Gakpo was that player that could play across the front three then that also narrows it down....
  5. Surely it isn't Sarr. They will fleece us. This is insane.
  6. Funding further expansion of the stadium? Thought Trey liked sound when he came on. Definite Curtis replacement in squad
  7. Still not convinced on spending such a wedge on Barcola. Wasn't first choice for PSG, but mainly because our squad is so thin plus glaring issues in the first 11, feel money better spent on a few players.
  8. What is the point of signing another player that is frequently injured. Lots of muscle injuries. If he can't physically handle La liga how is he expected to cope with the PL? At least he can cover right back and it is a loan. Really good player when fit..
  9. Frimpong is rapid but seems to have only one way of beating a man and is predictable. I think the french lad is quick if not rapid but 2 footed and seems to beat his man well and an eye for a pass. I'd prefer him to a limited speedster on the right wing.
  10. Seems to be his father on law and his wife's family the big backer with him fronting and pitching a wad in too. Stepping down from QPR suggests this is a lot further along and no way it 'leeks' to the press and confirmed by both parties if it isn't far along with a solid MoU on place. Reckon the difficult parts will be agreeing a full takeover at a set price or more easily first dibs but doubt they would buy 30% without an agreement for a full takeover down the line
  11. 'could' be the equivalent of getting Klopp at the same stage he was when moving from Mainz to Dortmund, but with premier League experience.
  12. Think Jones stays now but will have to sign a new contract. Suspect Iraola sees him in a similar profile to Scott. Can see Mac having a good world cup and securing a move to Atletico or Bayern. Szo needs to sign a new contract or be sold. Like the idea of him having a summer rest.
  13. Whoever we sign and even more so with Iraola, we need robust players with high availability. Long for the days of Mane, Firmino and Salah being available every week. But with a manager willing to rotate so they don't burnout in March
  14. If Iraola, it seems he doesn't come with a coaching team/setup. Seems only one fitness guy followed him to Bournemouth. We would need to appoint a new coaching/first team setup assuming all of slots team follow him out..... Maybe an ex player as a coach ..?
  15. Early days but a little concerned with the lack of links to a ball/duel winner we desperately need to screen the back 4. Especially if we go for Wharton, we were massively lacking that stability. We seem to have alot of work to do.
  16. I can imagine quite a bit of change at Newcastle. A lot of them sold on massive expectations with the Saudi money and their original spending spree. Can see them missing out on Europe and quite a few trying to force their way out
  17. He adores the club and you can see the pride he had playing for us. Just feel the modern game is leaving him behind. Midfielders are more athletic, physical, duel monsters, transitions etc. Harvey was always best as a sub where there was more space. When he has started he has struggled. He would be brilliant in Spain or Germany where he would have more time.
  18. How likely we get him and Guehi do you think? Is it then or nothing?
  19. We have a stronger team than last season. In terms of sales, only Trent and arguably Diaz were first teamers. Kerkez is an upgrade on both Robbo and Tsimi, Wirtz is genuinely world class and you have to argue that Ekitiki is an upgrade on Nunez. Last half of the season Nunez barely played and Jota was carrying an injury. We just now lack depth especially considering some of our rivals have added that depth. My concern is that we have a habit of waiting for our preferred picks to become available so I can see a situation where we wait until Jan onwards for Isaak and Guehi. That would be a huge risk
  20. I wonder with the Isaak situation is that we have been given confidence through what we think is the decision maker but ultimately isn't. Hughes and Edwards are very close friends with Howe and as FNB has said he is fine with selling him. But always felt ultimately the Saudis are not the type of regime that will be forced into doing something irrespective of the damage to their PSR position and reputation with players. I would look at the loan market, maybe Rodrygo? Even Ramos as a backup to Ekitiki. They must have something up their sleeve....
  21. It's picking a team to deal with the first 20mins, quieten the crowd and then take control of the game. Love Wirtz but he is still adapting to the team and we to him. Rotating him out for a more physical player increases our chances. Bring him on when the game is more stretched. We should use the squad to beat win the game. Monday will be more frantic and physical than a derby.
  22. I would overload the midfield as they will come out of the blocks flying and fighting. I would rotate out Wirtz and bring him on in the second half when they are likely to have run themselves into the ground and there will be space to exploit. With all that has happened with Isaak I can see this being one of our toughest games of the season. They will be massively up for it. Hope we have a really strong and experienced ref. Ali, frimpong konate Virg, robbo, grav mac, Szobo Curtis, ekitike Salah.
  23. Read that Sky are introducing a multi view format for Sunday games where you have a main game and some others in the right corners of the screen. Could be to do with that
  24. I wonder if Guehi is seen as a fit Gomez, able to play multiple positions. Reckon he could do a job at full back and defensive midfield. Could be the Endo role late in games forming a three at the back and stepping into midfield to help protect us with those transitions we have had a problem with recently.
  25. Yeah, Nune barely figured in the last 10games, it was clear to all suiters we were actively wanting him to go so the price was always going to reflect that. I do wonder what the backup plan is if we don't agree a price for Isaak. Use the loan market until he or another becomes available? Like a Ramos from PSG. Or do we go for a cheap young backup like Stassin relegated with St Ettiene. Reckon there will be a lot of deals done in the last week. Teams seem to be waiting for prices to drop....
