We've got Jota for back up now. Origi wasn't a good enough 4th choice but I'd Origi as 5th or 6th choice over Brewster. At least we know he can score goals at the top level. Our 3rd most goals per minutes last season.
It's mental people are saying he's better than Origi. He's only played for us against lower league opposition and done nothing. Looked a good finisher in Championship and that's about it.
He'd probably get a game in a Championship side that plays good football. Probably better for him to stay and train with our players at the minute but a few games would be good for him.
Any rumours about Harvey Elliott?
He'll be gutted we got knocked out of the league cup, that's one of his chances to play a game gone, although he probably wouldn't have played against City. Hopefully we get a few easy FA Cup ties for him.
He's a more proven player than Brewster who has nowhere shown he's a better player. He's more proven than Minamino, but he theoretically suits us better. I think he'd score plenty for a team that played him as a proper centre forward, like Ings has for Southampton. He was our 3rd top scorer last season going by goals per minutes played.
I think our style just doesn't suit him and it's probably best for him if he moves on. He's turned down moves to leave in the past.
Klopp obviously thinks Brewster isn't good enough at the minute and would rather sell him. I doubt he'll ever develop enough creativity, of which he has none, to play regularly for Klopp, or for Klopp to want to spend £40m on.
Origi scores goals when he plays. He didn't score off the bench last season but has scored plenty off the bench for us. We've no proof that Brewster can score off the bench, or score at all in Premier League or Champions League.
Not every player can develop something that he's shown no ability to do. Why did he not just improve Origi to be a better all rounder then?
