@gcooney93 Re half-time incident - Ireland fitness coach Damien Doyle has alleged he was spat at by an Israeli player. They'll be blaming Ireland players on spitting after the match.

David Sneyd @DavidSneyd A mad day. Reality and fantasy collide. Propaganda versus decency. The police are called. They investigate Israeli claims of assault and dismiss them completely. There is still a football match to be played. https://www.the42.ie/ireland-israel-nations-league-9-7181458-Oct2026/?utm_source=shortlink This was the FAI making the best of a bad situation, one that came into renewed focus after the Republic of Ireland’s pre-match press conference had to be cut short due to the co-ordinated and chaotic scenes orchestrated by the Israeli journalists towards the end of the first section. After the conference, the Israeli journalists in question followed Heimir Hallgrímsson and some of the Irish reporters down a corridor shouting more accusations and demanding to ask questions. As the FAI delegation tried to keep the peace and inform reporters that the live section of the press conference was over, one Israeli journalist continued to shout and said he was going to call the police. They did study the video and after arriving eight hours later they informed the stadium manager that there was nothing in it to warrant further action. All of this just served to further reinforce the sense of anger and frustration that the Republic of Ireland are in this situation. It should also be noted that on Thursday, seven Kosovo players bowed their heads during the Israeli anthem, repeating the gesture from the Irish players last week. Processing the level of satisfaction that the Israeli press pack seemed to revel in from their smears, not to mention the isolated nature of the venue, it just made you wonder just why are we sharing a sporting arena of any kind with Israel? Why are we allowing ourselves play a role in their distortion of reality and attempts at propaganda?

He was pushing to join us for years. I think he only decided he'd love to play for Barcelona after he thought we'd never do enough to sign him.

He's shining a light on his dodgy deals with them. I doubt the media have the appetite to go after him yet, though.

Match Topic Liverpool vs Manchester City - Premier League, 11th October @ 4:30pm
PaulMcC186 replied to ynwa.tv 's topic in Liverpool FC
I think it'll be like a normal Liverpool City game except we'll call them cheats more. -
City stay with teams who back them and the rest join the Superleague with Madrid, Barcelona and the Italian teams?
-
Why would Soriano accept that? They've had different people in roles like his since the investigation started. UK government will have a word like that always do when their paymasters are under pressure. Small time country.

Wirtz starting in what looks like a Germany B team.

I think plenty of owners will be hopeful they can get a big profit by getting bought by people like City's owners. So why put off them people by punishing City properly?
-
I think Wimbledon deserve far more sympathy than City. They won something in the 80s too, and without cheating. City hadn't won anything for a long time before they started cheated.

Everton were one of the six founding members of the Premier League who wanted more.

I watched it again and I think he's saying he doesn't care.

https://x.com/HuddsPrsrvtnSoc/status/2105451030599041124 Andy Burnham in 2023 saying he wouldn’t feel comfortable with the UAE’s regional rivals Qatar owning Manchester United because of issues like state ownership of football clubs and how clean the finances would be

@RuiPinto_FL Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game

Plenty of clubs that once existed no longer exist.

"I can't intervene more" So he's already tried to intervene?

I wonder if Burnham knows sport washing works on him. He doesn't seem the sharpest so probably not.
