Virgil might give Wirtz the captaincy to boost his confidence. That and the Klopp pep talk couldn't fail.

De Bruyne scored 16 goals and got 13 assists in his first season at City. He didn't get the chance to start at Chelsea cos he never played. Same with Salah except he scored 44 in his first season with us.

I reckon under our current system the director of football gets the final say. I don't think Slot would've sold Diaz without a replacement if he had final say. He's always played wingers and that left him well short. So it's an important role when they have so much power. The story was Ward left last time cos he didn't like Klopp getting so much of a say.

He said Wirtz has been a massive disappointment and the only reason most still back him is due to how good was for Leverkusen, nothing to do with Liverpool performances. He reckons if he was a youngster making his debut against Bournemouth he'd probably never want to see him in the first team again.

I don't think there's any way of knowing if he deserves it. I'd rather not have one of Edwards mates, fresh perspective, but FSG don't know anything about football so how would they know who to appoint?

That's a brilliant result with 10 men from early

They don't look good at the back.

I think having MacAllister and Nyoni playing together will probably help the team. But Szoboslai might get picked ahead of Wirtz in the role ahead of them.

Wirtz will be playing with Trey Nyoni soon so that should help him.

I think Silva controlled games a lot more than Wirtz. If he was playing like Silva without getting loads of goals I think people would be happier.

I definitely expect some special moments from him. I would from any attacking player. Even if they only cost £116m.

11 + 3 is 14 in total.

Why does he need this but most players don't?

Ekitike managed to have a far better first season. I expect a brilliant player to rise above a s***e team to some extent. We were a successful team the season before he joined. I don't think he's the reason we were dysfunctional but he didn't help.

No one is writing him off. They're just judging his performances realistically. One of the reasons the team isn't functioning great is because of Wirtz. There are a few other reasons too.

They did. City and Munich wanted too. He shouldn't need someone like Klopp to tell him he's good to play a lot better.

He doesn't get anywhere as much grief as Gakpo got, and he's managed to play well this season. It's all on Wirtz to show some balls and do it. I assume he has the talent but he's very rarely shown it at Liverpool.

It's not true. We ran less according to Mellor. I assume he got the data on his LFC TV show. @NeilMellor33 This isn’t true! PL data shows Liverpool ran 1km less yesterday. Had 69 fewer sprints than in January when Liverpool lost this same fixture last season

I think the recruitment team thought he could do everything Szoboslai done in terms of pressing and defending in title season, as he had great stats in Germany for pressing etc. But the physical side has meant he's nowhere as good at doing that stuff here and he's lost all confidence due to being easily knocked aside.

Klopp didn't have anywhere the quality Iraola has, though. He was getting sporadic brilliant performances out of a far worse squad. But Iraola will get top 4 this season.

Everyone at Liverpool really rated him too, they spent £116m on him. I'm sure Klopp will tell him he's brilliant so hopefully that helps.

International football is easy on comparison to Premier League, though. Hopefully he scores a few against some s***e teams and comes back looking confident and willing to try things to win a game.
