  1. who's "their"?
  2. True but I'm not expecting a flurry of bids for Downing and Carroll
  3. Sturridge is closer to the skillset we need for this system than KJH. However I'm not sure he wants to play there, he needs to pass more and that celebration is so bad I'd prefer he never scored for us. £15mill btw? 'kin ell If Stevie H is against I am now for. Let the records state my volte face in light of the new evidence
  4. when his good outweighs his bad it's fine. when the other happens it's frustrating. He's slowly worked his way to the form he showed on saturday. I don't expect him to continue at that level and I don't think it's fair to expect it as if he performs like that he's one of the best attacking players in the league. Just want him to get back to what he was in the first few months and not have another 6-7 month slump
  5. No. Henry however is different
  6. There was loads of that.
  7. not really They'll pay him. To many sh!tty variables if he leaves
  8. Yeah, he should just sign da ting
  9. What's the point of leaving if you're Walcott. He's at a massive club that's always in the CL. He knows it inside out and doesn't have to move home. He'll earn pretty much the same elsewhere and the clubs better than arsenal aren't going to make him a striker I can now see why he bought Borini and played him wide. I do think there is a quality differential between the quartet you mentioned and lower league journeymen
  10. Would be huge for me. As annoying as the Derby was in the end, getting out of Chelsea alive was hugely significant for me
  11. on our first goal, you can see why managers and players say you get ruthlessly punished in the Prem compared to lower down. All it was was a shortish pass and look what we ended up doing.
  12. I'm on board with that. I just need this run to go on a little bit longer for me to adjust. As it stands I think this form, given what we have done over the last few seasons, might be the zenith before we mess up a couple of games. The good thing though is that we've had this run and if it does end soon then we can look to replicate it turning more draws into wins and making it a bit longer. I know everyone is sort of looking average but we are currently a bit below all of those teams we are calling poor so are we really the team most likely to take advantage That's true. I suppose I'm conflating two issues. The first being one that you articulate so well above. The second is the actual football argument that I think there are more than 3 outfits better than us at football in this country.
  13. I dunno. I wasn't that bothered.
  14. I've been following this run really keenly. It and suarez have been my main sources of optimism You think you enjoyed Saturday more than me? Look at that reaction to getting beaten by Swansea in the League Cup with a load of reserves. It was ridiculous. The general curve had been upwards and based on that night you would have thought that nothing good had happened. I think that reactions like that, in part come about because we focus on games and not groups of games. Another major reason is projecting huge levels of unjustified optimism into the future. No doubt the response to this will be that I'm mealy mouthed or don't love football or miss the point of being a fan or something. Whatever, I just don't think it's that likely we'll qualify for the CL this season. While I want everyone associated with the club to fight to ensure that we do, I get it that even at 100% they might not make it and that's cool as long as they give their all.
  15. No the improvement if it comes will be gradual.. This discussion is about getting into the Champions' League this season. We analyse everything based on the last game we play. Watch if we lose or even draw with Swansea. This thread'll be dead
  16. He looked amazing for the 2 1/2 minutes Kenny had him for This is what my brain now thinks too
  17. Oh ok, we'll do that then.

  20. I'd put Enrique on the bench to provide that little extra bit of cover in case the duplication procedure results in a weakening of his structural integrity and he gets injured
  21. Yeah. so much of it is on this lad. We've lucked out massively with him. He's better than Fellaini, Cazorla, Ba, Long and Bale
  22. belief will be a big facto5 but other squads have better players and managers or both
  23. I don't think that we have the depth of ability to sustain the run we'll need. Plus mentally the knowledge of how to do it is only there in about 2 players and not even the manager
  24. I know your view on there's no point in pessimism but I just don't want to set them up for something they are understandably not capable of. I realise I'm posting on the internet and have no influence
