  1. They were nowhere near the top 3 Europa League or not. And they'll not as good as their early results this season show. Keep our nerve our a few conversion issues at both ends and we'll be overtaking them before end of the year.
  2. The lack of logic in discussing Chamberlain is mystifying. More likely s***-s***ters being willfully misleading - 'they needed a centre-back but they signed an Arsenal squad player for 40 million instead'. b******s. We also badly need numbers as shown in the second half of last season and a potentially excellent English international also badly wanted by the champions was a good option to take.
  3. From Empire of the Kop on Twitter Liverpool have scored one goal in 56 attempts in past two games. Of the last 19 shots opponents have had against LFC in last two games, they've scored 10 times. If LFC had scored at the same ratio as their opponents LFC would have scored 21 goals in our past two matches instead of one.

  5. No doubt Klopp will sort the problems in time - maybe not totally until we get a CB or Keita - but there is already dissent fomenting on social media and message boards, and we could soon have a full-on crisis narrative with two tough sways and in-form Man United on the horizon.
  6. One issue amplified tonight is that we have only one way of playing even if the personnel doesn't fit. It only works with pace in front three and having Mané and Salah to stretch play and Firmino dropping deep to create space. We had none of that tonight and looked slow when we did win the ball high up. Only looked like creating through Coutinho and Woodburn's trickery and Robertson's deliveries. But even then Solanke and anyone else were not looking likely to finish.
  7. Blessing in disguise this. Completely hobbles you in January if you advance. Better to lose tonight than Saturday. Obviously there is a LFC in crisis narrative now. But we played some great stuff in first half but couldn't finish. Robertson has to play every match now.
  8. Black shirt sold out.
  9. Saw this from Dan Kennett on Twitter earlier, really highlights the double-edged sword that it is the League Cup.
  10. I like but not at 90 quid
  11. Tough one this in that we need a win to restore some momentum and we could do with being in contention for a trophy next year. Conversely, as last year showed, the two-legged League Cup semi-finals can really f*** up your league form in January, we have a tough run of fixtures coming up in any case. Rest Salah and Firmino and the rest is much of a muchness in any case.
  12. That makes more sense. Still a tough run of matches.
  13. I think we'll get better in time. Klopp needs time; he's that sort of coach. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of time. We've got Leicester and United away to come - we've taken one point in our last four matches away to those two - plus a tricky trip to Rafa's Newcastle. We could easily be 10-plus points of the top in a few weeks.
  14. I'm trying to become this tweet https://twitter.com/EuroClubIndex/status/908313679157964801 Euro Club Index @EuroClubIndex49mLiverpool's 2-2 draw last night was a perfectly good result & did not change the club's 81% chance of progressing to the CL last 16 #lfc

  16. What a pic And highlights here https://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/video/videoid=2501179.html?autoplay=true
  17. Bit of needless bad PR here http://tibet.net/2017/07/tibet-liverpool-fc-announces-exploitative-water-company-as-partner-in-china/
  18. Great comment. The issue is also can we be as defensively-disciplined as we were in the run to fourth at the tail end of last season and maintain that attacking vim.
  19. That's a good thing surely. They had the option of creating a monster money-generating out of town new stadium but opted to keep one of the most historic venues in American sport.
  20. It is a bit of both. The system - so many players ahead of the ball, always on front foot looking to counter press, lack of real DM - ensures that when we give up chances they are big chances. Palace came for a draw so didn't even threaten; v Arsenal we gave a decent chance up to Wellbeck before we blew them away; Sevilla played for a draw too but every time they attacked they looked like they would score.
  21. When The Anfield Wrap are having a go, you know the tide is turning https://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2017/09/liverpool-2-sevilla-2-jurgen-klopp-kop-reds-soft-underbelly/ Both Heaton and Dunphy get to the crux of the issue. Ok, we should have bought better defenders but why are the ones we have making the same errors and being exposed in the same ways two years on:
  22. Here's the video https://twitter.com/RTEsoccer/status/908068459971469313 With added Liam Brady https://twitter.com/RTEsoccer/status/908073463193100289 And a Dunphy rant on Moreno https://twitter.com/RTEsoccer/status/908074426649927680 Actually a pretty nuanced view for this RTE panel who likes controversy
  23. Klopp: "We need to learn to be dominant AND not give easy goals away." Ok Jürgen, make it so.
  24. I was confident that with VVD and Keita we could do big things this year. The failure to get them in now had me worried. Watford game showed that Klopp and his defenders had learned nothing and last few days have confirmed that. I love the man and his passion and the football he has us playing going forward if often breathtaking but I really can't see him taking us to the title or a sustained spell of challenging and winning cups too.
