Is there any substance to a rumour I heard at the ground the other day that we've supposedly done a deal to sign a 'premiership player' for £25 mil? Probs an old wives tale but these two fellas were talking about it in the row behind and were getting proper excited. Just thought I'd ask and see if anyone else had heard?

Yeah, I don't know if it's what Bruce is saying but I don't agree with him highlighting the amount of goals conceded either, that's a defensive effort as a unit, not just Mignolet's. But in terms of a lot of the first things he's said it is harsh but I don't think you can argue with it. The timing's wrong though, could he not have waited until the summer to say it as opposed to potentially rocking his confidence by it?

Agreed, shouldn't get too disheartened. I'm not expecting big things in the CL next year at all. Getting past the group stages will be good enough for me (as unadventurous as that sounds) but considering we've had 5 years away from it I don't think we should expect a great deal given the amount of extra games we'll have.

just going back to that baffling Independent article - What possible long term plus is to be gained from selling Luis? Winning the league won't seem as credible if that's the case. Look at Dortmund (Feel snide using them as an example as I adore them) but they won the Bundesliga and are still seen in the eyes of many as a selling club. Do we really want that to be us?
