Have injuries played a part? – yes.. however we are talking about one striker, one midfielder and one defender. Villa have 8 injuries! The lack of depth – and worse still the lack of agility in producing an effective team when a couple of injuries strike our first 11 – is a huge concern. We’ve been poor in defense and completely lack a cutting edge. If suarez is out for a length spell then we are doomed. Its obvious that we need to offload a few players that are either out on loan or just not cutting it here. Players like that negatively impact the team and the balance sheet (and that’s also where FSG have their eye). Why would they approve us buying another player when Joe cole is grazing on 80k a week (or whatever he’s on). We need to free up those players and let the manager bring in a few that he wants to bring into the squad. Its time to give him a few players that can score (why did we let Dirk go again?) and see what he can do with the squad. Clearly we can create scoring chances – but not enough people are putting them away. And its getting mighty frustrating as a fan. Oh and f*** off Downing.
