Wenger and Ferguson have around 10 and 15 years on Rafa repsectively so its unfair to compare at the moment. I personally think Wenger and Ferguson will go down as two of the best managers of the last 50 years......... It's not fair to judge Rafa yet - Lets see what he done in 15 years time with / without Liverpool and judge him than.
I think Cesc came in late summer 03 and Rafa in summer 04? Anyway Cesc made his first team debut a couple of months after arriving at Arsenal so Wenger nor the gunners can claim to have brought him through.....no wonder Barca were slightly p!ssed when he left them.
Up until 2003 Socrates had never even been to Ireland!!! Alex Bellos the Brazilian based footie journalist asked him direct. Perhaps he has been here since on holidays etc. And while we are it Pele name does not come from Peile!! Best Zidane compilation on You Tube is the one featuring Rakim 'Don't Sweat the Technique'.
assume you are taking the p!ss I'd be very happy with Roy Hodsgon, Houllier or Jewell THe thought of Souness getting it fills me with fear. Nothing to do with Rangers, just don't think he is a very good manager
It the negative Karma isn't it? Its preventing Rafa from coaching the team on the traiining ground and making us into a cohesive unit capable of passing and moving a football. Instead we are getting this dire muck served up because of those fans and their negative thoughts. By the way Derby are f***ing sh!te..............
This seems nothing more than Ferguson giving him a bit of a boot up the ar$e for being a lazy **** People can talk all they want about their lack of depth but they are the champs...... I wonder are they on the decline as people have been saying for the last 3 years or was it just the fact that Chelsea were so good the two years they won the championshio OR was it just wishful thinking...................?
Yes - correct about why he was unavailable . Also thought the same myself - useful to have off the bench. Although apparently he is not the saviour I said he was
When I lived in London I saw Fabregas when he was 16 against Wolves in the Carling cup - I think it was his senior debut???? Anyway even at that age he looked class and the thing that struck me most was the maturity of his game, his pass selection etc. A 16 year old playing like a 30 year old. His ability to dictate the game is brilliant and very few midfielders in the world can do it. Him and Gerrard are different sorts of players so not easily compared.
New Nou Camp.......sorry if this is a Romario Anyway Barca are spending €250m on the Nou Camp and bring the attendance up to 108000. Norman Foster firm is doing it http://www.fosterandpartners.com/Projects/1552/Default.aspx
Ronnie Whelan said on RTE yesterday he thinks Fabregas is the best central midfielder in the world at the moment. He also can't understand why Torres isn't starting and that Rafa should play his best team. The kneejerker.
that's right total kneejerk. We all remember Wenger giving Henry a rest every second game for Arsenal. Mourinhno doing the same with Drogba. Ferguson used to regularly not play Cantona when they were chasing their first title in 26 years. I don't think its unreasonabled for pool fans to hope we'll play are best team as often as possible. It's not like he's asking for RAfa to go.......
Is he injured or something? I thought he would be ideal for a match like today even to bring him off the bench. Suprised he wasn't included as he offers a different option to our other midfield players
In the real world only a small precentage of promising 14 - 18 years olds develop into top players capable of playing for a club like Liverpool. If we are really lucky we will get 1 or two from the current group he has signed / come through the youth system. Hopfully we will also be able to sell a couple on in a few years for 500k - 1 m and the rest will be released.
