its funny the way different clubs try to make transfers happen. Klopp was only a few days ago saying that there are very few CB's available and that they will basically not go after other targets - VVD hands in Transfer Notice. Barca ask about Phil then say they are going for Erikkson at Spurs and guess what Phil hands in a transfer. My feeling is that he will stay - if you want to talk about loyalty look at the treatment of Sakho by the club. If Phil wanted to go he should have handed in his Transfer notice at the beginning of the window giving the club enough time to find a replacement. Always pisses me off when players don't hand in the transfer notice as they will miss out on the loyalty bonus and % of transfer fee

don't forgot we basically lost the league on our goals against Suarez goes we can replace him with 20 goals ( lambert / new striker / Lallana / Markovic ) and if we tighten up at the back even by 10 goals we should have a chance Rodgers always says it about the system - this is the same system that helped Suarez get to 30 goals. His stats in the second half of the season showed that his ratio was falling and it was more about the team - we can replicate that system with the new players. I will miss Suarez when he goes as he was our 1 true world class player, but I will not be missing the fact that he could explode at any time whether on the pitch for us or when he is away with Uraguay. Also don't forget he would've missed 9 PL this season so nearly a quarter of the season andyou could argue at least another 3-4 trying to get match fit

I think Real will come in for him as Higuin and Morata have been linked away from the club. This is Suarez pushing the transfer through. The one thing that get's me is that when we bought Suarez we knew he was a bit of a nutter ( with the biting ) but Arsenal are buying a guy who has bitten again, sworn at supporters, used racist language, supposedly dived. I find it funny how desperate they are. On top of that there fans are asking ex-players to stop asking why he would move from Liverpool to Arsenal. Why would he move to a club that just participates in competitions ? they have been in the CL 17 consecutive seasons and have only been to 1 final ? . To be honest I am sick of him and undoubtly if he went Arsenal within 2 years this scenario will happen again if a Madrid or Barca come calling.

The way I see it is that Suarez and his agents have read the situation wrong. He wants to move abroad but no-one to our knowledge has made a bid. Get AFC interested as everyone knows they have cash to burn etc.. And they need to appease their supporters. The first bid of 35 was 2 weeks ago and now anew bid of £40m goes in 2 weeks later.I think the player and the agent felt Madrid would have bid but they didn't after the first bid but the didnt. Don't forget after the first bid Ayre told Gazadis to do one as the deal was'nt going to happen. The agent then goes back AFC with the release clause story to test the contract and to push RM ( don't forget at this stage RM have basically sold Higuin ) to enter the fray and they haven't .i believe he doesn't want to go AFC but he has got himself into a mess were he can't stay and his only option is Arsenal. Not a single other club has bid for him him reputation must be in tatters and AFC are the club desperate enough to want him. If he goes he goes if stays he stays but the no 7 shirts needs to be taken away from him. It makes me sick to see him wear that shirt. He has no morals whilst I expected him to want to leave the way he has gone about it is horrible

I think the investment was too great. You would have to build the stadium etc... Man city stadium was paid for by the government so all they had to do was buy players

the way I remember Alonso's exit was that 2 years prior i.e 2006-2007 & 2007-2008 he was'nt playing much due to injuries etc.. Masch had come in and provided a more mobile midfield. People can say what they want Rafa wanted Barry and the owners pulled his funding as they bought Keane for £20m when Rafa wanted Barry for £18m. He was then told he had to sell to buy, and based on the previous 2 years tried to flog Alonso. No - one wanted to pay £14m for him in the summer of 2008. What can I say he pulled his socks up and played his best season and we sold him for £30m. You can't fault Rafa for that, he tried to sell a player who was not at his best for the previous 2 season, the players got pissed off and went to have his best season so that he could get a move away ?

Didn't Kenny say when Comolli was sacked that he identified the targets and Comolli bag em? In Kenny's book Commoli went to him and said Carroll is still available. I doubt FSG would let a temporary manager spend £35m on a player.

Dalglish was only asked about Carroll Camolli was the one who done the transfer. Don't forget when we bought him Spurs had a bid knocked back of £22m only a few days earlier and the thinking was that Carroll's price would skyrocket over the summer, People also convieniently forget that the price was basically Torres + £15m so we basically made £15m out of the deal. I personally would keep Carroll and give him a run in the team we have alot of games. BR has played it badly he did'nt need to say anything re Carroll and Agger but he did. Any news on Agger's contract situation as I would rather have him signed up then Skrtl.
