I get that the home broadcasters are not going to neutral but Mowbray and Shearer on the BBC were insufferable. Especially first half. Shearer was describing things only he was seeing.

yeah Nicol played both full back positions. More RB than LB though. Scored a hat-trick from RB away at Newcastle in 87/88.

Nicol is one of the all time greats though. Still think he's incredibly underrated. Probably in my all time XI at right back

it is him and VVD as CB and in the all time XI. This isn't even a tough decision despite all the great centre backs we have had (Yeats, Hughes, Smith, Thompson, Lawrenson). Hansen and Lawrenson is the best CB partnership we have ever had.
