    Ironically being so far ahead in the league seems to have freed some up to mither about our (probably consequential) performances in other competitions. Winning the league this season would be massive, and I'm living the unexpected joy of that every day from now till the end of the season. League cup final loss is barely a scratch on that.

    Newcastle playing like it's their cup final.

    Quite the mental shift on this game for me, a few weeks ago didn't seem that important in the grand scheme, almost thinking if Newcastle win their first trophy since Victorian times, well, on they go, we've got bigger fish. Going out of the CL and in a decent position in the league, suddenly not winning the Carabao cup would be quite the downer.

    Jota has never been about the all round quality of his play, but was clinical when he had a (half) chance. If he can't get back to regularly nicking goals around the box then no reason to keep him.

    I'm glad we didn't use the squad more against Southampton. Rather not take any chances with the league till it's won.

    Indeed. First season, working entirely with players from previous regime. Hit our ceiling for now against a v good side. He will know where we need new signings to be better in those games next year.

    Yeh in the same way Spurs have been Spursy for decades, I reckon these lot can't change their dna overnight. Capable of a looking like world beaters at home, go to sh*t when the going gets tough.

    I still can't take PSG seriously, the grand fanfarons, the galatico showboaters avec no backbone, les Tottenham Hotspurs francais. Pff.
