New York Red Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I thought he did really well tonight. Far more composed and not nearly as uncoordinated. He was at fault for the goal, but other than that I thought he did really well. Just a side note. Oh my God, Momo is absolutely exceptional. Just see how good he is two years from now. He really will be the new Viera.
Elisha_Scott Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 He will be better than Vieira. I honestly cant believe the progress he has made just this season alone. He is an absolute monster and I am so glad he plays for the reds.
Nebraska Red Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Alan Parry and Tony Cotte were gushing over him today. His lunge to pass the ball to Cisse was amazing, his leg seemed to grow another 3 feet whilst he was on the ground. He was all over the place and he did not give the ball way too often, his cross with the outside of the foot deserved a goal. My only concern is will he get to play in that position often enough. If we do get the wide right player we appear to need, Gerrard moves inside alongside Alonso and where does that leave Momo?
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 At last, we have the new something and he isn't s*** I still have nightmares of the back of the Liverpool Echo after Diao scored against Leeds. "DON'T COMPARE ME TO VIEIRA" Too right
fyds Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 He will be better than Vieira. I honestly cant believe the progress he has made just this season alone. He is an absolute monster and I am so glad he plays for the reds.I doubt (given the fact we were playing mostly second choices) that Didi has ever had an easier evening. I remain the proud possessor of one of the first Momo shirts! Fine player he is - stunning player he will be. Hardly noticed your mate was having the night off. I do hope Momo ghets a goal before season's end - no-one anywhere deserves one more.
Lee W Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 He was at fault for the goal, but other than that I thought he did really well. Traore in a sentence.
Nebraska Red Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 if we want to be really picky, the goal was down to poor ball control by Morientes who had the chance to hold the ball and gave it up to a WHU player. Traore just got beaten by a good turn by their player.
Guest mick the baker Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 djimi has always been better as centre back than left back, but i fear he will be surplus to requirements come the summer.
RedNik Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Has that not been the case every summer in the last 3-4 years? (not specifically with you .. but in general)
mercury Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 He will be better than Vieira. I honestly cant believe the progress he has made just this season alone. He is an absolute monster and I am so glad he plays for the reds. His game went up a notch after his eye injury (like Carra after his broken leg!). still a few misplaced passes but distribution is way way better. And only 21!!
Guest blizztar Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 djimi has always been better as centre back than left back, but i fear he will be surplus to requirements come the summer. Pretty sure he isn't in Rafas long term plans. His distribution isn't good enough, and he also has problems with his positioning. He is ok for cover though, but you just know he will get punished for a positional error sooner rather then later. Tackling and speed is imense at times. I wish him the best of luck in his career, but I'm afraid it's not going to involve much playing if he stays at Liverpool. Alan Parry and Tony Cotte were gushing over him today. His lunge to pass the ball to Cisse was amazing, his leg seemed to grow another 3 feet whilst he was on the ground. Gerrard will most likely fill the room between the lines on more occasions next season, the Aimar space if you will . He is deadly effective here, and with Momo and Xabi behind him he can cause mayhem. I expect his goal tally to improve even more next season...if we get that fabled right winger in the summer.
Scally Bob Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 When you say "Why does Traore look better at CB?" does CB mean Car Boot?
New York Red Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 (edited) When you say "Why does Traore look better at CB?" does CB mean Car Boot? No, it means "c*nting b*stard" as opposed to "f*cking b*stard". Edited April 28, 2006 by New York Red
Knox_Harrington Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Gerrard will most likely fill the room between the lines on more occasions next season, the Aimar space if you will . He is deadly effective here.No he isn't. He is the box to box centre mid on the planet though. We'll rotate intelligently in midfield so everyone is fully fit by May to lift a couple of trophies.
Guest northcountryboy Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Traore is better at centre back for the same reason Carragher is better at centre back. Neither is good going forward, a prerequisite for being a good fullback. At centre back you've got alot more time and space, and alot more options on where to pass. At fullback you're options are limited. You also have less people taking you on at centre back than fullback where you've got wingers at you all game. Having said all that, I'd like to apologise for comparing Traore with Carragher where on one had you have an accident waiting to happen and on the other hand you have a living god! Please forgive me
Magic8Ball Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 No he isn't. He is the box to box centre mid on the planet though. We'll rotate intelligently in midfield so everyone is fully fit by May to lift a couple of trophies.if we get quality RW's well move to being a 433 team mostly
Guest Sabre Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 God, where was Traore going for their goal today?
Mike Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 God, where was Traore going for their goal today? he is a f***ing idiot. he never, ever learns. that's all there is to it.
Guest Sabre Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 "Look at me, Mr Opposition. Come near me and I'll get sucked out, leaving an easy route to goal. Hurrah"
madskilz Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 He was crap today - miss-kicking, giving the ball away cheaply, losing out in challenges he should have won - poor game all around
cymrococh Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 So lets just stop and wonder how f*cking bad Frode Kippe was.
beejay Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 "Here you go Mr Milner, have 20 yards to run at me, I won't even close you down, by which time I'll have fallen over my bambi like legs" I'm having second thoughts about this Simao guy now because Traore made Milner look class!
hideNseek Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Average player who Rafa will say good bye too. Same as Cisse.
mickdundee Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 He was crap today - miss-kicking, giving the ball away cheaply, losing out in challenges he should have won - poor game all around Im sorry but that is unforgivable for a pro football player.
Dule Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 wasnt Traore originally a CB when he joined the club?
