I didn't know Sly Stallone was English - you learn something everyday!

That's the modern sporting speedy equivalent, similar to the way they initially patch up women after caesarian's - it amounts to the same thing and when he came off they very likely over-stitched and then removed the staples.

 

I've heard he had a mild concussion followed by a bugger of a headache, but should be allright for the weekend.
