Shack

In a parallel universe, Shack should be playing to audiences of thousands and be adored by millions - if they could be arsed, that is. Maybe if their songs weren't riddled with drug references, they would. Who knows?

Saw them in Manchester tonight and they were magnificent. They played stuff off Waterpistol, The Stands, HMS Fable, Here's Tom With The Weather and a few newies off the forthcoming LP and they were on great form too.

One of the very best bands to come out of Liverpool, IMHO. It's always nice to see bands at smaller venues but it was a shame that it was only about three quarters full. But, a late contender for my favourite gig of the year.

"The Stands"

Mick Head is a genius. Looking forward to the full tour next year and the new stuff. Him and John did an acoustic set here 12 months agao and did a few tracks from the 'new' album that he said would be released this year. Can't say I was surprised by its non-appearance, they seem to operate on a different timescale to the rest of the world but its always worth the wait.

Yeah, it was. It was a cracking atmosphere and Mick seemed in good spirits, as did the rest of the band. John Head was majestic on guitar even though he looked like he could pass out at any moment.

They're bluenoses I've been told. Apparently you can't hear it, so I guess it's OK...

Nah, they're not. I went to see them in the L2 (Or the Carling Academy as it is now) when we played Chelsea in the Champions League in September and they put their set back until after the match so they could watch it.

Also on their website there's a link to .tv but no link to the Bluesh*te's website.
