Guest Red Mist Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Shearer is almost on par with Michael 'c*nt' Essien in the dirtiness stakes. I honestly don't see what he brings to the Barcodes besides his elbows and kicks to opponents heads. He's a dirty c***, I would be furious if we had a player like him, or played in the way the Toon do.
Bigal Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 That tackle on Campbell that he didnt get booked for has still flabbergasted mePosts merged:if flabbergasted is a word
Stevie H Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 weak refereeing that was. particularly given the two he booked gilberto for. carra will sort shearer out on boxing day.
The Hitman Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 He's a great player,but yes,he is dirty.I would've loved to have him,he's fantastic.
Jarg Armani Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 he's miles dirtier than essien, but who cares? he's a great player and more to the point it isn't as if he's just become a nasty cheat is it. strange season for this sort of thing.
The Hitman Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Shearer dishes it out,I don't think he would deny that, but he can take it back.Therein lies the difference between Shearer's ilk,and the majority of modern "hard men",Essien included.
Tones Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Didnt take it too well in the cup game. Couldnt stop crying about it after the game. If you are going to give it out at least take it as well. Still say the way he kicked Neil Lennon then blackmailed the FA into dropping the charges make him a c***. Still, hes an England legend and a great player so hes allowed to be dirty.

smicer07 Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Can he take it though? Last I heard he was moaning about getting elbowed in the face in the cup and was threatening to knock the other guy out!
The Hitman Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 But did he do anything during the game? No,he carried on and scored the decisive goal.

Last I heard he was moaning about getting elbowed in the face in the cup and was threatening to knock the other guy out!1110306 Exactly, then done a similar sort of elbow on David Weir just weeks later. Amazing player in his day but a cowardly s***house.
Ombudsam Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 can you imagine the stick he'd get in the press if he was foreign. it's all "good ol' al" now though
slapnuts Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I honestly don't see what he brings to the Barcodes besides his elbows and kicks to opponents heads. 1110220 well he's 3 goals off being the highest ever scorer for them for one.
Bootle Buck Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 He's fecking great. Reminds me of the 60's and 70's type of player. It's atough game and he certainly can mix it up with the best of them. I would love it if we had a CF like him.

If the referee is weak enough to be cowed by his reputation and not big enough to stand up to the usual amount of verbals the likes of Shearer, Keane and Carra give out then they shouldn't be out there.
The Hitman Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Anybody who wouldn't want Shearer in their team is a fool.Imagine Shearer and Fowler up front!!
Guest Red Mist Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I'm not talking about the Shearer of the 90's - of course I'd want him. The Shearer of today is useless, all he has to offer is aggression and the only reason he stays in the team is because of the influence he has at the club, not because of his football abilities.

He set up Solano nicely on Saturday and has helped Owen. Unfortunately he is wasted with Ameobi upfront who is absolutetly schite.

He's a pale immitation of the footballer he used to be and his style of play is now barely a step up from c***'s like Drunken Ferguson. dorgie Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I think he's suffering from a level of frustration. Arguably the Leagues' best striker for the past 12 seasons, yet only 1 medal to show for it. I think he has a few regrets & Mikey need look no further to realise he needs to get out of that place a.s.a.p. if he wants to win things.
