In an ideal world, given that there will need to be a couple of rounds of auction, at least:

Registration will close at 10am (BST) Tuesday 10th June - or when the maximum permissible 16 people have been accepted into the League, whichever happens soonest.

The first round auction will then open - and remain open for a minimum of 24 hours for everyone to submit their bids. Precise timings will depend on my schedule! :-)

Second round auction will then open immediately for a further approx. 12 hours.

Final pre-tournament auction will then open and run up until some time a few hours prior to the Opening Ceremony - again (my) schedule dependent.

It's why I'd like to fill the last two spaces a.s.a.p., so I can get the auction up and running.

Please all note: I've never done this before, so anything could happen!!

Looks quite straightforward to me - just choose your players and enter a max bid.

When the auction closes tomorrow night, I assume we'll all be told who has been successful with which bids. And then the second round will open.

nevermind got it

Cool.

To get to this point, view the list of teams and click your own team name,

Once you've clicked to process the bids, the players that have been 'won' will be assigned to their owner and will be unavailable for selection in round 2 - they'll probably spam the feck out of us when that is done.

Really? This is the worst website I've used in years

It is poorly designed, I agree. I guess I'd been playing around with it for an hour or two during the day, trying to understand it better, so it seemed a bit more straightforward than others were finding it. The rules of the auction don't appear to be prominently displayed, or indeed displayed at all. I'm sure it'll all become clear - or if not, we're all in the same boat.

I do like the idea of an auction for players though - transfers can be done during the competition as well. Not having played a game like this before, I'm not sure of the best tactics in the auction - I really do suspect I'll end up with only 1 or 2 players in this first round!!

Yeah till Dave mentioned how I had no clue how to select a team, should I win my bids you all may think I still have no clue how to select a team

I even read the help, it says "Each manager can now log and put in their secret bids using the Online Auction Engine."

Nowhere on the site is labelled 'Online Auction Engine'.

Ah yeah I was hoping for a box that said it. Still we're there.

The player selection is easy though. Still not sure why it's so concerned with formations when it doesn't ask you to select one.

I wasn't sure whether to try and blag a few players like Sion did or bid reasonable amounts on a few and go full bore for the key players. I may have been caught between two stools. We'll see.

Anyone gone for Muller ?

Yeah, I've always preferred this idea. Most fantasy leagues are just a race to sign the 'surprise' player before anyone else, most teams end up looking exactly the same. This way we'll all have a decent chance.

What does Tie Order mean?
