I was sat next to John Barnes watching a match in a bar last season. He asked to see the food menu, and when a member of staff lauded the quality of the food Barnes replied, "look, I'm not interested in the quality, I'm all about the quantity.". I think he ended up with a burger.

The interest in Barnes has been far greater than Rush. We have sold out in 2 days, Sydney has too.

 

On a personal note it's amazing, being able to spend time with ex players is what dreams are made of.

Brisbane is now off sadly due to a lack of flights from KL where he is coming from.

Barnes was simply superb, he talked for 3 hours, and would have gone longer if it wasn't so late.

 

If anyone gets the chance to see him, he is good value.

 

If you want to hire him for a talk at your club etc, I can pass details on how to get him.

 

He was far better than Ian Rush, who was superb I must add.
