Probably the reason Slot was not sacked is Hughes just could not be bothered to do his job, more interested in his own career elsewhere.

Slots only hope is FSG spend months looking for a new man, and therefore s there's noone left to sack him.

There's just been so long of these Hughes rumours. For ages nobody seemed to refute them, but I saw someone reputable recently saying we'd rejected Saudi advances. But there's clearly something there.

If it's happening then you'd hope someone has got replacement in mind.

Edwards’s position isn’t tenable he came in to do one thing and he was brought in to do one thing. He was done with working for a football club but this was a new project.

yeah and as soon as the news came out that FGS had binned that idea off, there were fairly snide briefings in the press that clearly came from him.

I veer from day to day on what I think will happen, but a complete sweep of all three of them wouldn't stun me.

Why on earth would Richard Hughes not want to stay on at Liverpool, like.

I mean yeah that's all anyone is going to Saudi for, but I still reckon if Liverpool FC say 'you're our guy, please re-sign and stay for longer' then he does it.

It's a long way down from Liverpool.

Yeah. You’re right that it’s all more likely if he can sense they are sour on him. If not then maybe there is a pathway for him to run the whole of Saudi football. That Emenalo used to do Hughes’s job at Chelsea right and isn’t he dead high up over there

Who can criticise him for wanting to fulfil his childhood dream

Hopefully. Sporting Director for one of Europe's footballing powerhouses or Saudi?

Not the serious minded football professionals we need in the club.

Very different to players going there though isn't it. If he's being offered life changing money to go there you can't really blame him. It's not like an already loaded player choosing between £5m a year in a top league or £20m in Saudi. He won't have earned that much in his playing career. I just don't trust FSG to bring someone in to replace him in good time.

It took them about 2 years last time. And they ended up just getting Edwards back.

It probably cost us Klopp as well. He was carrying too much weight on his shoulders at the end

Aye, they should've had a list of people they wanted in case anyone left. We're led to believe they work 2 or 3 years in advance but all evidence contradicts that.

We did get Jorge Schmackers and his massive clackers in the interim, though, and snapped up all the bargain midfielders in Europe

Bring him back, have him grab three top forwards
