Bakerloo line

A tube tunnel has collapsed on the Bakerloo Line under the River Thames, according to reports.

The RMT says the problem has happened between Embankment and Waterloo. The Bakerloo Line is currently suspended between Piccadilly Circus and Elephant and Castle.

The London Fire Bridage have been called, while the London Ambulance Service is also on the scene.

Maintenaince workers on Tube Lines contracts are currently on a 72-hour strike. However, TfL says its response has been unaffected by the strike.

Hang on, so why are the workers striking for more money when incidents like this happen? Had they been doing their job properly this would never have happened. Typical useless tube workers, getting paid a ridiculous salary for doing nothing.

See bankers, corporate lawyers, accountants etc.

I quite like the Tube workers shutting it all down to increase their 50 days holiday or whatever. It hopefully reminds Cameron and his ilk that it's not just about slutting up to the banks.

I doubt they'll be increasing nurses salaries on the back of it however.

In some ways...yes.

An utterly ludicrous statement of course but as a member of a nominally socialist party you would think that you would actually welcome a bit of worker power. Doesn't look like it though.

Hey Matty, these are your friends.

Hold on, wasn't that a joke?

You obviously haven't been reading his posts very closely Dan.

No wonder they are striking for better pay and conditions if any given tunnel is only 72 hours away from collapsing, Do they ever get any time off?

Yeah they can't work while the tubes are running. So a normal day so.
