The Direk Kuyt of his day - worked really hard, scored vital goals, played soem great games, put in some poor performances, always a queue of people waiting to slag him off.

I see him more as the Charlie Adam of his day. Kuyt is a very different player to Murphy and I think Kuyt has always stood out more in big games than Murphy did (bar those 3 goals at Old Trafford!).

Decent player generally but couldn't keep possession to save his life.

His main problem was a lack of pace

To be honest the times I have seen him this season he has been very good and when allowed to can dictate a game. He struggles a little after 60 minutes or so but a very smart and tidy player.

I remember many years ago Ged Houllier saying he was the most skilful player at the club, probably said as much about the rest of them as it did Murphy.
