Also reminds us to be realistic as we move forward. We have bo European football next season and the hodgson effect will hurt us for another 18 months I reckon.

A reality check for those saying sign aguero for 40mil and his crazy wages.

some stuff is just wrong though eh?

this meant that RBS could dictate terms, allowing them to place Purslow and commercial director Ian Ayre on a reconstituted board

The really good news is that Henry has confirmed that the change in ownership has removed all the debt except for £37 million for development work on the proposed new stadium, which is part of a £92 million credit facility agreed with RBS. Normal working capital requirements mean that £87 million of this had been used by 31 January this year.

So am I right in thinking this 92m credit facility to be used by 31st Jan could potentially have been used as 37m stadium debt + Suarez + Carroll. Leaving us with the money from babel and torres in another account to be spend this summer?

Spike - just read your post and immediately had a flashback to the 'player account' and visions of money disappearing, never mind the Hodgson effect hurting for 18 months, the G&H effect wll haunt us for years with thoughts of what they did cropping up out of nowhere!

That was proved correct, I'd have thought. In particular, the following sentence where G&H weren't allowed to make changes to the makeup of that board - which they tried and failed to do near the end.

behind the mancs:

60m a season behind the mancs in matchday revenue. that's what a bigger stadium can bring

25m behind in tv money

20m behind in merchandising

wage bill almost double that of spurs

20m spend on sacking staff

address the above and we're in great financial shape

The first is mainly due to the early CL exit I believe

The second should close significantly with the new kit sponsorship
