Well done to Skrtel on his new contract (extended by 2 years to 2014). Pleased myself as I feel if he can work on his aerial game, he still has the ability to be a top centre half.

 

He showed good composure at times against Arsenal, hope he can take that form forward into the rest of the season.

He looked fit against Arsenal. For much of last season he didn't give the impression that he was fully fit.

 

We need him to step up this year, and he could well do. Hodgson works well with centre halves, I think - could improve him.

Not sure composure is the right word. He defender really well, was dominant on occasion in the air and looked impressive. Sometimes it looked like he couldn't wait to get rid of the ball though.
