f***ing s***

supposed to be a 24 hour world calls city, yet you cant get to a football match at 5.30 on a saturday

We were speaking to some Hammers walking from Barking Station, and they were saying a few of there mates had just sacked it off, and were going the pub

It was a good 50 min walk from Barking..Taxi's refused to go up to the ground as it was rammed.....buses stopped,,,,,,

The to comound that they shut Junc 13 - 14 on the M1 with no matrix signs until you got on the M1

and they shut junction 4 to 4a...so we had to go upto 23 and on the A50 to Stoke

they dont give a s**** about football fans

Someone at West Ham wants to have words with Transport For London.

I live near the Emirates and they've been postponing works on the Victoria & Piccadilly lines when there's an Arsenal match on. If they're doing that for them I don't see why they're shutting the District when West Ham are playing

They also suspended some work for the Coldplay gig at Wembley

Your best bet every time is M6/A14/M11 and straight down to the A13. Slightly more miles but no need to drive across or around London and dual carriageway/motorway to about 1/2 mile from the ground

Barking is a long schlep. Beckton is far nearer and many Hammers fans park in Beckton and wander up

TFL are putting in a lot of work to be ready for 2012. They are doing things that are pissing off people big time and are of no benefit to anything but making sure the 2012 routes work well, even if that makes other journeys (routing them away from the games runs) permanently s*** or creates permanent inconvenience for commuters (cutting stops) or pedestrians (removing crossings) elsewhere.

Dave - FWIW coming in from the West Country was no easier - all the usual log-jams at Hammersmith, round Paddington on the west side etc were amplified - probably the Coldplay gig too. Getting out was thankfully much easier.

I didn't find it too bad. Went to Forrest Gate train station which was about 3 stops from Liverpool St

About a 25 minute walk down Green St. Which was very entertaining on the way home. 9pm on a saturday night and the hairdresses and fabric shops were banging

Green Street is ace on Sunday afternoons when there's no match.
