Decent food?

You're talking about drinking away from the ground

Bolton's bad too.

What's up with that s*** that you have to show a ticket for the Bolton end to get in to the pub.

It is.

3 of us had tried to go in to one that right beside the ground after the match cos there was massive queue for the train and they asked for our tickets.

We ended up going to one a good bit away from ground up past a few busy roads and industrial estate.

The Beehive off the High Street near Bruce Grove.

Not sure about it being child friendly & certainly not a food pub but a decent pint, decent service and no knobheads (ours or theirs)

Been going there for years. Best of a bad lot.

theres an irish centre not far from the station at spurs that serves food and kids allowed as well. also plenty of space to sit outside in the sun and its half decent to get sereved as well.

Good shout that Tommy, met up with Molb, DH and Mike, they let kids in, not overly busy and Sky Sports on the telly.

Then as we walked out Dave Hodgson spotted the sign outside.

Great food and great beer, a decent pub for decent Tottenham people.

Ha ha! Contradiction in terms!

There's an OK beer garden as well.

Quite why we felt the need to stay in there until closing however is beyond me. Suffering for it badly today.

Apparently at one point I was asleep standing up, with my forehead on the bar.

I think by decent they meant white.

Why do you think that?

It wasn't me who said it actually, not first anyway, but we spotted the sign on the way out and it was blatently obvious from the wording (of which mine is a loose translation) that was what was meant. Tottenham is rammed full of immigrants from all over as you know, 'decent TOTTENHAM people' had an underlying meaning, absolutely no doubt. I don't recall seing a non white person in the pub either when I think about it.

could it have meant tottenham supporters? as opposed to arsenal fans or fans of other teams?

Why would they want to keep non Spurs fans out of their pub considering there's only about 25 days out of 365 when Spurs play at home? It would be ironic too being as we were in there.

perhaps they only put the sign up on match days? i don't know. but then it's not me that thinks 'decent' automatically infers 'white'.
