Hodgeson in the interview had already decided not to challenge for the game and to throw it away and move on. There is no team in the whole of English Football from the very top to the very bottom that is more deserving of going bankrupt and vanishing into the mists of history and I wish they did - they'd perhaps leave space for a team that actually deserves to be involved in football. Really can't stand them. They are just the most pointless laughable and pathetic club in history.

They rolled over intentionally against the Mancs yesterday and the other day - Utter utter waste of space of a club. Just hopeless and taking the place of proper clubs in the top flight there really has never been such a s**** club ever.

I thought Fulham put up a decent fight initially yesterday. Even at 1-0 they had chances but once the 2nd had gone in it was game over.

Fulham is the best away in London by a mile, their fans are the antithesis of that mob of South London skinheads down the road, I f*cking love Fulham, their ground is from the 40's and they're a pleasant reminder of how things used to be before Sky.

Sh*t rant Andy.

Football must have been s**** 'back in the day then mate' because in both interviews the 'manager' (Yes I know ha ha ha) gave interviews which stated that Fulham didn't have a chance, Manchester United were the best team ever in the universe, their players 'couldn't compete' with the Manc players, the manager of the Mancs was the best ever manager in history blah blah blah.

I can't imagine what his team talk must have been like if he's that f***ing s**** to the media.

For me the only London club which doesn't deserve to go bankrupt with their s**** fans is Charlton Athletic.

All the rest can f*** off. Can't stand any of the b******s.

I agree with Andy here.

This mentality by a few Premier League managers is causing us to nearly be handicapped by 15pts a season.

What a load of s**** that is.

Its spot on i'd say. And its the same in all sports, the filth have earned it by winning what they have and we'd get the same teams rolling over if we won a few leagues but it doesnt make it any less annoying right now.

Maybe one day we'd be intimidating (and good enough) to have poorer teams lose the game before the the match has started. Shameful as it might be, Hodgson and many others have their side's best interest at heart and dont care what Liverpool or Chelsea or Arsenal care about it or how it affects them. Its up to us to raise the bar.

Exactly. The fear factor they have now affects manager's attitudes.

The sooner we get over this, and start going out there and winning games the better. The Mancs are better than us at winning games, thats the truth of it. Sure, teams do get intimidated but to suggest managers are simply giving up is a load of crap.

Christ, how naive are you?

a neutral would say that hodgson was being 'refreshingly honest'. it hurts yeah, but only because we don't have that aura of invincibility that the mancs do.

and hodgson's an excellent manager and seems a decent bloke with it.

So you are telling me professional managers, and professional players are basically giving up when they play Man Utd, but every other team they play they are up for it?

Head - sand.

Look, there might be some issues with the officials, but players and managers want to win games. There is no better feeling for a player or manager than beating one of the top sides.

Its because the Mancs have that air of invincibility it means the weaker sides don't have the mentality or ability to beat them and managers are setting up to try and keep the score down more so than try defeating them.

You can spot the work rate off the ball with a side that believes they can beat them almost immediately.

I love how you think the saying "professional" makes it all great, Neil Ruddock was a "professional" and he was an "unprofessional" c*** on the pitch.

Some certainly do yes, not all but some. I think you're hugely naive if you think every team and manager goes out there believing they're going to get a result against Utd. I watched Hodgson say his team need a "miracle" to win at OT recently, great faith he's got there!

You seem to think we're saying every team in the world rolls over for them, we are saying a few do and its true. Just like in tennis against Nadal, darts against Taylor etc etc. If we win 2 leagues in row we'll be the ones some will roll over against but as it stands we're unfortunately the big name a lot think they can get a result against, and im aware its our fault but it doesnt make it any less annoying.

or you could say if we had the mentality of the Mancs from the 1st minute we would intimidate teams into submission as well?

The way they approach games against "lesser" teams makes it very difficult to deal with, and it makes sense that some teams will be set up to deal with that - nobody is giving up though.

Not saying that but against them they're resigned to their fate from the kick off.

Also, Carralegend's point is true. The Mancs have earned this right.

We haven't as yet.

You only have to compare Mourinho's Chelsea to the Scolari's one to see how it can come and go,

Didnt say that did I?

Players/Managers might think that realistically they are going to lose the game, but it doesnt mean they dont give it a good crack.

They are hardly rolling over teams this year thought are they?

Fulham granted, fell apart, but they have run a s*** load of games 1-0, and with a fair amount of luck - I dont think you can accuses teams of rolling over for a 1-0 defeat?

I think there is clearly something wrong with a manager who has a team capable of getting a point at Anfield, the Emirates and Villa Park this season as well as beating Arsenal at home and holding Chelsea at home going into the OT league game claiming to need a miracle.

Yes it may be a reputation earnt but if he'd actually been watching what he was going up against in that game he was clearly talking crap and putting a whole load of negative intention and attitude into his side for that game when they were more than capable of getting something.

Of course it's up to us to spank a few more sides and not be so damn easy to play against for a point so we can attain a similar aura, but let's not deny that Hodgson and likely a few others go into the Man U games expecting to be beaten and look for damage limitation.

People bang on about the big clubs not taking the Cup seriously (clearly nonsense - just look at the vast majority of the winners since football began in 1992) but when little clubs like Fulham admit defeat before they even get on the pitch... it kills the very ethos of the Cup.
