SkippyjonJones Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 The option of the death penalty still exists in New Hampshire. However the state hasn’t executed anyone for nearly 70 years. In fact they don’t actually have anyway to execute anyone. However this changes everything: http://www.bostonherald.com/news/national/...03&srvc=rss There is no doubt about the guilt of the killer. There is nothing to redeem this person who shot a police officer who was trying to arrest him. Its as clear cut as it gets. However it will probably cost more money to build somewhere to execute him – and go through all the appeals process – than it will keep him in prison for life. Public opinion is very much in favour of the execution and the option of keeping him in prison for life and the financial implications of either option don’t seem to make it to any public forum. I think it’s a step backwards for the State. Make him do forced labour for the rest of his life and any money he earns should go to his victims family. Be a long while before he ends up executed if ever.. yep people seem to wan this blood – as if that will ever bring back his victim.
