Mind games. Gerrard will be ok.

Agree, my reaction also, reckon Rafa following demento's example. Makelle will be picking him up too with Essien suspended

Makelele - what a player to have in reserve ...

he was poor the other day - looked like his legs/lungs are wearing out.

Its all p!$$ and wind. Around big games these rumers are always out. Will worry about the team selection when I see it on the tv.

In Raffa we trust!!!

Gerrard is a great player - but we look more like a team when he's missing.

Never quite worked out why...

If he doesn't play we are not as good as we can be.

Disagree - the way we setup means we aren't a one-man-team.

he didn't say we where! And we ain't, that much is obvious.

But only a complete fool would say we are better without him.

Even his presence gives an edge. And his and Torres partnership is something we need in these games.

He's one of our best players no question. But as a team we seem to be more stable when he's not around (Which counteracts his absence) - in the same way When McManaman was at Anfield - if we ran out of ideas - give the ball to him - stop him playing and you stop Liverpool.

We get into similar situations with Gerrard. Run out of ideas? Give the ball to him.

Which is fine - but when he's missing we seem to get a bit more creative - because we have to be.

Andy, playing the position he's been playing, he's been a vital link between the front men and the midfield. Tell us we're better without him makes me want to inflict pain upon you.

i think he is such a strong character and his manner intimidates some of the "lesser" players. some of them just give the ball to him on demand

when roy keane played for ireland it was the same type of scenario

that's why i think gerrard will do well as a manager - he has a certain aura around him that intimidates/motivates people

Arf. Well I'm in the King Charles every home game.

Good luck with that.

No. That's fine - don't bother reading my post

I read your post, but I also thought it was a load of crap. He's been vital to our recent success.

Don't be daft, you drama queen.

No. You're right - we couldn't possibly win a game without him.

Recent results back up that argument.

I don't remember saying we can't win without him. I don't remember saying it because I didn't say it. You're far too smart to try and win an arguement by making things up, Andy. Shame on you.

Recent results... I presume you're talking about our win against relegation strugglers Fulham and not Inter Milan, Arsenal and a host of Premiership clubs that we've battered with him playing a vital role...
