Hope Alvaro can make his debut this time. Much deserved I think.

Luis Garcia (the real one) not good enough for Spain any more?

Shame Capdevila isn't a few years younger. Would have loved to see him as a new full back at our club, been very good every time I've seen him.

Hardly played for Atletico this season. Rumour is the chairman/manager wants a clearout and he's one of the names on the list.

Bring him back and play him on the right in place of Kuyt!

without turning this into a kuyt thread, i wouldn't mind garcia back at lfc. he was always a serious goal threat and think he would have done well within the current offensive line up.

also i don't care how s*** he is or not, de la red belongs at lfc just for the name.

Oh don't worry, I'm not going to launch into any "I hate Kuyt" speeches.

And I absolutely adored Luis Garcia, I thought he was ace. We've missed him this season.

Luis wanted to leave. Its not like we let him go because he was surplus.

Could it be he would want to come back now things aren't too well in Athletico?

I know the reason for him leaving was that he wanted to go back to Spain (wife's request?) but now that a year has gone by who knows? He knows he would be welcomed back by many.

I'd like to play FM and imagine us lining up with Sergio Ramos, Villa and Silva.

*drool* Ramos is the only RM player I would really, really want in our team - fat chance that would happen though.

However Villa and Silva on the other hand might be a possibility. Depending on how bad things are at Valencia at the moment.

f*** me does Spain have a decent national squad or what? If it wasn't for the internal difficulties they seem to be having... In fact I'll stick my head out and name them the best national team in the world right now even ahead of teams like Brazil and Argentina - on paper.

Man for man, Spain have been as good or better than anyone for a couple of seasons. The squad is brimming with world class talent, even people that haven't made the squad are brilliant.

It's funny you lot say we should sign De la Red. I was just laughing at his name. In spanish La Red (at least everytime i've heard it or used it) refers to the internet. All the same I was thinking the same thing, what is his position? I don't watch Spanish football very often, and even then it's usually the Barca and Real games that are on.

'Red' means net or network in Spanish.
