four years during which we've won the CL, got to the finals twice, won the FA cup and scored bagged the highest points in the history of this club in the premier league. unfortunately we're a two or three points where we were this time last season but thats not too shabby given we're spent most of the season without one of our first choice central defenders in agger, a first choice creative midfielder in xabi and of course a first choice winger in pennant. sure enough we havent done as well as we'd want but we've been well unlucky with these injuries and you really cant underestimate the importance these players have.

secondly this year the club has been sold once which is going to have an impact on the players and management team regardless. not imo, thats a fact, its the same it happens to any business with employees concerned about the changes that will be made, whether there will be restructuring, people leave, etc. then as times gone on the the yanks and the press have consistantly spent the season f***ing with rafas authority either thorugh directly publishing stories to that effect or through complete apathy. this is going to impct the squad and management team as well for the same reasons.

right now we need to get behind the manager and show him support. beyond that the yanks need to sell up to someone who can take the club forward and that wont carry on down this path turning us into the new newcastle.

Why do people bang on about highest points ?

Did we get a trophy for it ? No - so it basically means f*** all.

It demonstrates two points:

1) Rafa is capable of doing well in the Premier League. Very well actually. 82 points would have won you the league a lot of years.

2) The standard of competition is so high that we were still nine points behind Chelsea.

It shows you just how hard it will be to wrestle the league from Chelsea/United/Arsenal.

Us being rubbish this year is not due to Pennant being injured. You may have a point with Agger but we should be able to deal with the absence of Alonso. Look at how Chelsea have done without Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Lampard and Drogba.

aye i reckon we should too, but unfortunately this season gerrard largely hasnt turned up. on top of that i tink you would be surprised just how many balls pennant gets into the box.

as for the chelsea example outtages of major players last year lost them the league and in the end their manager. the thing is though like arsneal and united they also started to build their current squads five years or more ago and theyve considerably more depth. rafas been working on us for three years now and the foundations are pretty solid now.

let the guy finish his five year plan ffs, lets not get someone else new in and start this work all over again. i really think its important we improve the stability our clubs management or we are in genuine danger of becoming a new newcastle.

its down to the fact rafa has lost confidence. he needs a assistant manager and he needs to have belief not in the team but himself.

thatg gonna happen if he reads it every days, gets asked if hes being sacked everyday and if his bosses show him f*** all support. hes been royally f***ed over and i really wouldnt blame him if he moved on. hed be welcomed and traeted infinitely better at any of the big clubs in europe

yes, because 5th 3rd and 3rd is the benchmark of a big club in Europe. Madrid and Barca and Milan are well known for their patience with managers.

Oh FFS, please do compare us with Chelsea... It is all about money. United have spent 80m on four players. Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves and Rio. Chelsea on 3, Carvalho, Drogba, SWP. Our strongest XI haven't even cost the same as those 4 players from each team. We are poor as f*** in comparison. We always have been. Stop thinking that money doesn't matter. If we had the same amount of money, givin the recent 4 years' speculation our team could have been.

Reina

Alves Agger Carragher Arbeloa

Simao Alonso Gerrard Malouda

Torres Villa

Hands down a championship there...

Simple logic. We don't have as much money as the previous winners of the PL. Money talks.

Yes some of you might say:"Well Arsenal haven't spent as much..."

a) They have, most of their youngsters have been expensive, and Hleb, Rosicky, Adebayor have all been 10m+ players

b) They are already starting to crumble and won't win anything. United and Chelsea will divide first and second again, again, again, and nothing will change until we spend some serious cash on multiple positions...

An example, Torres. Our first 20m+ player, and look what real quality gives to at team. 17 goals already, in his first season in a new country. Imagine having two more 20m+ midfielders... Fx. Silva of Valencia and Mancini of Roma.... There you go...

I haven't said much through this recent spell, but if I can say one thing it is to stop blaim Rafa. His squad is not strong enough, he has to settle for his second and third transfer choices. And this is the result...

If you truly believe all of that then you are deluded. Being without Agger, Alonso and Pennant () are no excuse for some of the soul destroying, mind numbing dross that we have been served up.

Did you also know that Rafa has the third best win percentage of any LFC manager after Paisley and the King?

No?

That means f*** all either!

You can claim that people who are voicing concerns are kneejerkers or whatever, but if you cant see there are serious problems then you are blind.

that XI guarantees you nothing and Rafa would never play them all week in week out anyway

Hleb - £8m

Rosicky - £6.8m

Adebayor - £7m

b) They are already starting to crumble

like your argument...

Something I've said to alot of people, he if doesn't play his £11 Million pound striker upfront more than his freebie in Voronin, what makes people think he would if he had a Ronaldinho or Ronaldo in his team?
