Guest Snorky Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I'd like to see Berbatov alongside Torres, I think those two could be special together in a manly forward pairing kind of way.
Ethan Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I'd like to see Berbatov alongside Torres, I think those two could be special together in a manly forward pairing kind of way. Do you know something or are you dreaming out loud?

Guest RedIsMyColour Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hardly an original thought is it? People have been banging on about this for months.

Guest RedIsMyColour Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I am a bit behind the times, Murph will understand Age is a terrible thing
Ethan Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Neither, typing my thoughts on a forum cool - I like ur thinkin lad - Berbatov would be excellent partner
Guest Snorky Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Age is a terrible thing It is when someone younger than yourself is classed as middle-aged, and then you can't even remember who said it and who it was about
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Benitez shouldn't like him, after all he's just not a runner, but hopefully he sees enough creativity in the player for him to become a priority in this summer's transfer window. Hopefully the bulk of this article was not enirely spurious... http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...icle2362686.ece
Swipe Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Elano would be decent. And it's only a matter of time before Santa Cruz goes to a better team
Gray - YPC Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I eas expecting this to say Santa Cruz seeing as he scored 2 tonight!!
Swipe Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) I eas expecting this to say Santa Cruz seeing as he scored 2 tonight!! Does look decent, mind. Would benefit from a top class, quick forward in front of him. McCarthy was atrocious when he came on tonight and Bentley is a clown. Time after time Blackburn made the wrong decision when attacking. But, I digress! Edited December 27, 2007 by Swipe
Dominus Maximus Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Johan Elmander. Class striker, the next big thing, still at Toulouse, yes he didn't have the best of games against us but he is pure class. Stong, fast, technical. Works well with Zlatan in the Swedish national team. Youtube him and you'll find a lot of great goals against quality opponent like Lyon. Followed him closely when at Brøndby. He played 18 months in the same team as Agger, and if Agger can do so well at this level, Elmander can too. Those two players won Brøndby the double Would cost you around 12m. His size creates space around him and his partner. Swedish hard working ability, combined with continental technical skills. Also does game deciders, can create goals on his own. Play lone striker, off striker, with partner. Get him in...
Hieronymus Bosch Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Elano would be decent. And it's only a matter of time before Santa Cruz goes to a better teamGot to really sign such players before they come to England. Benitez would doubtless have been well aware of both; Elano is a Brazilian international and Santa Cruz was at Bayern for years. Edited December 27, 2007 by mrshah
Spike Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hopefully the bulk of this article was not enirely spurious... http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...icle2362686.ece Especially the bits about fowler leaving and bellamy also posibly going
Guest Banjo Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Berbatov's the overrated pile of pap I have ever seen. Spurs seem to accumlate them. Darren Bent anyone?
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Especially the bits about fowler leaving and bellamy also posibly going haha, I meant that it was built on something genuine and Benitez was actually interested.
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Berbatov's the overrated pile of pap I have ever seen. Spurs seem to accumlate them. Darren Bent anyone? Both are good players. Bent's been unfortunate to go to a club with such a well established first choice striking partnership.
Magic8Ball Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Torres really needs someone like Dalglish someone who can chip in with goals, hold the ball up and create openings for himself and others - there are not many of those people around. Inferior versions are rooney, tevez in our league. If you want a lone striker for Torres to play off ( not how Rafa is currently doing it) then Anelka and Drogba are the best Silva and Villa are two from the Spanish league who could potential link well with Torres - Villa seems the best choice there if he's strong enough, scores and creates in equal measure
Guest Anders Honoré Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Berbatov... cant we at least put forward someone realistic? Elmander is a class player whom I can see doing well at a major club, but I don't think he is the kind of player we need. He'd be a good bet if we're looking at a Berbatov/anelka sort of player though. Edited December 27, 2007 by Anders Honoré
Dominus Maximus Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Elmander... This goal, wow... Shows off a couple of his skills all in one drive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w0iEwHmhEI A hattrick... last two goals a bit lucky, nevertheless a hattrick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc1ZDThD6IY f*** me, look at the first 30 seconds here, against Casillas, Puyol, Ramos and the rest of the Spanish defence... Awesome... Vs Lyon... This one, reminds me of Torres, but more physical, although still very fast... Powerful header What do you think? Can we start a bandwagon?
Walrus Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 What do you think? Can we start a bandwagon?Reminds me of Carew - no thanks
Swipe Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 He may as well have not been on the pitch when we played Toulouse in the qualifier this season
alias75 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 The type of striker we need aren't easy to find, someone that scores a decent amount of goals but can drop off and link the midfield and attack. Rooney or Tevez are the type of player that would work great with Torres. Im not a great fan of Berbatov but hes probably the best in that position in the PL that we could realistically sign. Maybe even Robbie Keane could be a possible hes a clever player, can link the play but scores a lot of goals too. Its probably worth trying Benayoun or Kewell there than persevering with Kuyt and Veronin.
