Jamie Carragher has admitted he is unlikely to play for England again despite suggestions new boss Fabio Capello may try to tempt him out of international retirement.

The Reds defender has won 34 caps for his country but after playing in a friendly against Brazil in June earlier this year, he opted to call time on his England career to focus on Liverpool.

 

Since then there have been calls for him to re-think his decision but Carragher admits he is happy with the way things have transpired and does not foresee himself making a comeback.

 

"I don't think so," he said when asked about the possibility of a return to the international fold.

 

"I'm happy with the way things are now and I get to have a break with the family as well now (in international weeks).

 

"I cannot see that changing."

I honestly think he needs constant football. Breaks for whatever reason dont seem to help him, he needs the groove you get from 50 plus games a season
