Arsenal are playing their game in hand against Newcastle this week.

I was wondering why we are not playing our game in hand (West Ham at home?) this week?

I posted this question in another thread. My theory is it's because Everton are at home in the UEFA cup on Wednesday and we were never going to fix it for Tuesday having had a game on Sunday.

We're flying at the moment, a midweek home game against West Ham would suit us. Don't know why its not scheduled.

Strangely, I fancy Newcastle to get something off Arsenal. Its make or break time for Allardyce and his players. The pressure could galvanise a backs-to-the wall effort.

No chance

Their back four is f***ing clueless

Or they could just put in a typical Newcastle performance and fall apart then sack their manager.

By the time we kick off against Reading, I can't see anything other than us being 9 pts behind Arsenal and 6 pts behind ManU.

It wasn't in the script for Bolton to beat Man U. I fancy Man U strongly to beat Fulham tonight but i've an inkling about Newcastle Arsenal. As people say, Newcastle will probably get shafted but there's something about the fixture and the timing that has a faint whiff of a freak result.

one of the lads at the match yesterday said we're playing the game in January.

When in January? The schedule is:

Wed 2 Jan Wigan home

Sat 5 Jan FA Cup 3rd round

Tue/Wed 8/9 League Cup semis 1st leg

Sat 12 Boro away

Wed 16 reserved for FA Cup 3rd round replays

Sat 19 Villa home

Tue/Wed 22/23 League Cup semis 2nd leg

Sat 26 FA Cup 4th Round

Tue 29 West Ham away

Fair enough if we go out of the LC at Chelsea, but if we don't it won't be until February at the earliest

I see a quickly scheduled game on Wed 16th then if there are no cup replays for either side

This still hasn't been announced, has it?

You'd think everyone would want to get it arranged sooner rather than later and there are at least a few free midweeks now.

We could play it during the week everyone else's CL fixtures takes place. Between Chelsea away and Inter at home.

No.

Play them twice on the day of the West Ham away, then. Not as if either team will have anything else on.

Six points in one day would really kickstart our push for the title.
