And Cardiff play on the Friday night.

Also how many of our players will be starting in both games ?

Talking of bizarre scheduling, 9 out of our next 12 games are at Anfield :o

And two of those away games are at Everton and Blackburn, not much travelling for us for 2 months :)

Some tough games, though.

Arsenal, who haven't really been tested yet, imo, seem to have a much easier set of fixtures, if there is such a thing.

Only a week or so ago Arsenal had played 4 home games to 1 or 2 aways. Could go most of the way to explaining their current lofty position.

I'm curious to see who will come up for the game from Cardiff. Will it be the hard-core LFC supporters who exist in droves down there, or the maniac CCFC guys from the Grange End.

they've won away at Spurs and West Ham since then to be fair

any team with a half decent defence (not villa) could do that though...

True, but winning two away derbies (the number of which is so often used as a reason why Arsenal title campaigns are undermined) already certainly adds to what is an excellent start.

indeed, and they were impressive in beating a very giood West Ham side too

the reason why arsenal campaigns have been undermined in the last few years has been a perceived weakness in allowing teams to bully them out of matches, notably the northwest based teams not the number of london derbies (although this was an excuse several years back - you're getting older faster than you think ;) )

my comment about spurs is largely based on the shocking travesty of a shambles that unfolded before my eyes at WHL last night. can't argue that Arsenal haven't had a good start though.

(completely dragged the topic off liverpool v cardiff as well. sorry.)

Arsenal were always one for Fowler's favourites to score against, Fowler is now at Cardiff and with those two short steps we're back on track.

it was also that they insisted on trying to score from inside the six yard box after 37 consecutive passes. look how many long-range goals they've scored already this season.

The red carpet will be rolled out for them, we've been well looked after in Cardiff, time to reciprocate.

Come to think of it, have the Gooners actually played a league game outside of London this season? They're playing well, but that's been a very handy start for them.....

(Completely off LFC v Cardiff topic tho' - apologies!)

They've not played anyone of note at home.

Torres won't. He'll be rested for the league game and will start V Cardiff. :)

Once, away to Blackburn where they managed a 1-1 draw. Their next two league games are at home too. This will mean played 9 in the league, 6 of which were at home and 8 of which were in London. A very good reason why they are doing well, apart from their good football.

I do believe they've not been test yet either, but, by the time they are, their confidence will be sky high anyway.

ps. Nice draw for Fowler ;)

The upside to this scheduling is the fact we dpn't travel far and therefore the need to rotate for tired limbs is eliminated.
