Dunno if it has been posted before but I have read that our scouts have been impressed with Josh Wright. Young Charlton midfielder currently on loan at Barnet.

It does not paint a very good picture of the quality coming from the £12 million academy we built does it

Done Ok in the FA Youth Cups though, haven't they?

 

Think it's more an indictment of football in England as a whole that the talent isn't comign through, compared to other nations.

It's the old Haves and Have nots. We can't find all the best talent for our youth and academy teams because of geographic restrictions. Therefore, we pick them up after the fact and when they actually start to look like the real deal. That's the beauty of being a Big club.

indeed, one thing we're lacking is a "finishing school" for our talent, we cant play them in the first team so we need a mechanism where they can get real first team experience..... maybe we should buy Everton
