Our favourite paper up to its old tricks

I'll admit to not having seen the offensive cover but I've read various reports about it and there were a few on Roger Philips' phone in at lunchtime sounding off about this as well.

It seems the Sun printed a picture of Rhys Jones with his Everton shirt on and a blurred-faced picture of the alleged shooter wearing a Liverpool shirt and saying his favourite player is Steven Gerrard. People have been saying the implication is that there is something in the football rivalry. I heard no Evertonians are buying in to this s***e and again, I'm loath to comment on something I haven't actually seen myself but does anyone else know anything more substantial about this?

If this is what they are doing, is it a clever way of using the boycott against us knowing full well they might get this s***e through with no-one able to stand up against it for fear of being seen breaking it?

They do make money out of people visiting websites you do know that right...?

I haven't seen it (I do boycott the website), but would have thought that, if the alleged shooter is a Liverpool fan, then there's nothing that shocking about showing him in his Liverpool shirt - it certainly doesn't make me feel victimised, or in any way compare with their Hillsborough coverage

Theres not really anything to research, it's a vile, horrible, sickening rag and will stay that way.

saw the cover of the rag in the shop the other day and my first thought was they were working an angle.. if they 'know' who did it and have access to photo's of this person then they've chosen one that works the Liverpool/Everton angle particularly as they had Rhys opposite in his Everton shirt.. in my mind there's only one reason they've done it.. c***s..

Spoke to the Sun Publishers last week.

Asked them if the printing of the paper used any inks that would rub off on the skin.

They asked why I was concerned.

Explained I wanted to wipe my a*** with it.

Just been on the Scummy rags website and it seems it was from the other day, c***s.

Sorry mate but going on that site is no different to buying the paper version, imo.

do you not boycott the website, then?

I went on it to look at it after the original post, the website is free so I aint giving them a penny of my cash, in fact I'm almost 'using' them, which feels rather nice.

Whether or not you put your hand in your pocket directly to go there, every hit on their website will increase their revenue.

Christ on a bike! I can't believe people are posting this s***. I went on to see the cover as its sounds rather f***ed up and low and behold there was a lad in a LFC kit next to Rhys in his Everton kit. If that isn't suggestive then I don't know what is.

Sorry if I ain't offended your holy than thou attitude but I personally think I've done balls all wrong but checking to see something I couldn't believe they do without seeing it. I would NEVER buy that rag or give them a penny, simple as.

How when I didn't click on one advert (that would be the way in which to give them money).

Every hit on their website means more money from their advertisers. If their website didn't make them money they wouldn't have one.

If you click on an advert it does, it you don't it doesn't.

Papers have websites to advertise themselves and make money from company's who advertise on their site (by directing them to the sites by clicking). Websites don't make money just for people visiting them, otherwise this one who be loaded after every game that Torres is left on the bench...

Don't try and f***ing tar me with that brush cause your talking b******s.

You had to go and check as you couldn't believe they'd do something like that? Wise up, its vermin, always has been and always will be.

And as for your "using them" comment further down. f***ing hell, I despair.

If they didn't have to show advertisers they had X number of hits per day/week/month why would anyone bother advertising with them?

The more hits, the better "standard" of advertiser and the more they pay, ergo visiting their website makes them money.

If you seriously think the number of hits a site receives has no bearing on the amount advertisers pay them, you're kidding yourself.

No need to get so wound up and defensive about this and I'm not trying to tar you with any brush. Just saying that in my opinion, the boycott should include the website.

If you link to that site on here your post will be deleted. That says something.

No-one's getting hysterical or trying to accuse anybody of anything, just making a point.

Thanks.

If I thought for one split second that by me going on that website to see exactly that it would generate them 00000.1 pence of revenue there's no way I'd have even thought about checking it.
