eskton Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 i was thinking of flying to santander myself, arriving the night before the game, but how do you get down to Porto anyone help
Sion Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) Santander to Porto is quite a journey, 4 hours at least probably. You'd be better off going from Lisbon to Porto but that's still a fair journey. Unless you've got a really cheap flight I personally wouldn't bother. If you're flying into Spain, La Coruna is closer but it's still a fair bit off. If I was you i'd pay the extra and fly direct to Porto with Ryanair or TAP Portugal. It'll cost you a load to get from an airport that's as far away as Santander as well, so the extra cost to Porto might not be that much more. Edited September 3, 2007 by Sion
jon_hall Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Try flying to Santiago De Compestelo. Closer than La Coruna by a bit. Santander is f***ing miles away, might as well fly via Madrid.
Armin_Tamzarian Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 The road to Santiago has been upgraded over recent years thanks to the buckets of EU money spent in Portugal. It's a nice drive.
eskton Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 yes but was going on my own so driving is not really an option. The flight to santander is 1p each way at the mo, into Porto its over £200 was looking for anyone else who is going to santander really to share a car
fyds Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Stowing away on Ryan Air is quite cheap, if lethal.
Will Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Booking the day of the draw tends to be the cheapest way. I hope this helps.
Hightown Phil Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 It also means you end up on the plane with a right shower of b******s though.
Christine Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 It also means you end up on the plane with a right shower of b******s though.

stressederic Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Stowing away on Ryan Air is quite cheap, if lethal. Only slightly more then buying a ticket and eating the food.
Hightown Phil Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Bloody hell Not got yer sarcasm detector turned on? Gonna make sure I'm at the back of the plane and I can then pelt you all with the empties I've got.
fyds Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Only slightly more then buying a ticket and eating the food.'Ladies and Gentleman, due to the weather over Oporto and the fact the company hasn't paid it's local taxes we shall shortly be arriving in Alicante...'
Will Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) Not got yer sarcasm detector turned on?The scary thing is that it's probably true... Edited September 3, 2007 by Will
Christine Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 The scary thing is that it's probably true... There is no "probably" about it - FACT
