cough,cough...

oh yes .......its on!

tonight game shows what a great squad we have.....i seriously think this year could be ours to lift the premiership, now this isnt an overreaction to the game...toulous were crap, but sitll our passing, movement was fantastic.....we now have an excellent squad, have not conceded a goal in open play...

Theres an air of confidence around the whole club at the moment, we had players come in tonight who have hardly played......yet this side looked like they have played together for years, with better finishing it could easily have been 10-0..

not to ge too excited...but i can feel it, this is going to be a wonderful season.

Some pass and move sequences tonight really lifted the heart. I haven't seen that for so long. And when a player had the ball there were a couple of players close by ready for a pass. God that was nice to see.

yeah the movement tonight was exceptional......interesting to note how important arbeloa is slowly becoming, links with the attack well.....and hes certinaly not quiet on the pitch was giving it loads to benyoun and sissoko in the first half.....

also, STILL no goals conceded in open play...

In fairness there's going to be a LOT tougher taskes than Toulouse to come, but it's been promising.

It is a long season however, but if you can't be full of hope now, when can you?

and maybe the major point is....these games..EXACTLY the kind tonight, we have previously struggled in.....tonight we made it look easily, and yes toulous were bad, but they are still a decent side...certainly better than the team(Graz?) we played last season when we lost.

Maybe we were so keen to hark back to the good old days we acted as though we could still pass back to the keeper. I thought we were trying to will Reina into a silly mistake. Apart from that, though, it was encouraging stuff.

agree we seem to have some confidence this year that has been missing from Rafa down to Riise we are looking confident.

Riise unfortunatly for him....really does stand out as our weak point now, he was poor tonight....hes been given a few opportunites this season and hasnt been good.

Some of the options he was picking were awful, going against the way the rest of the side were playing..

Im definetly happy with arbeloa as a left bk, with finnan at right back.....but we definetly need more options/back up there, which im sure Rafa is working hard to address.

Got to stay neck and neck or ahead of Chelsea till Jan, then we can start to dream

If we can do that, i think it is more than definitely on! We have an awesome squad. The players selected on Saturday have to do the business, and with the likes of Torres, Voronin, Alonso, Pennant fully rested i am more than confident that they will.
