Mark Gonzalez played LB for Chile

Yep- to start with – and he was hardly in the game. At half time they shuffled about a bit and he either moved up to LM or was just given licence to roam forward – either way he saw a lot more of the ball and showed the pace to get past players and get a cross in. I’ll be keeping an eye on him to see how he does. 6/10 so far ;)

The torny has been great so far. The lowest scoring match was the Mexico win over Brazil – only 2 goals!! The argies kick off tonight and look to have a strong squad – especially when facing the USA who have a lot of inexperienced players – be a tough test for them. At least the current manager has the balls to try new players.

Impressive display by USA considering the players they brought and who they are playing against. Class save by Keller on the Veron effort and that Eddie Johnson looks a handful. Mascherano has had some good touches and has made some pretty good plays defensively.

US aplayed well until the last 15 minutes - plenty of times int he game when they were making the argies do the chasing.

The usa clearly lacked the experience but that'll come with time. dodgy at the back at the end and not enough cutting edge in attack.. although twellman seem to have order to hold back and not join Johnson in attacking - not the role he normally plays.

oh well - can;t see many beating that Argie team.

Mexico vs Argentina tonight – should be a good one – Mexico are playing pretty well and Argentina have been simply fantastic at times.

Last nights game was good – especially for Forlan. He scored one from the edge of the area – I think that by that point he was playing so badly that Brazil stopped marking him…

He got the ball on the left at one point and tried to cross it – 3 times. Everytie it was cut out by the same defender in the box – cokcing useless at crossing… and Uruguay’s second goal – Forlan shoots and missed the far post by enough that it went to another Uruguayan to put it in the net… then in the shoot out he screwed up again. :D

Mechico v Argies on now

I thought I'd record and watch it tomorrow, but here I am at 2am - just could'nt wait

Have really enjoyed this tourney, theres been some fabulous football on show.

Only downside for me has been the co-comm, Gary fecin Birtles. He'd talk the leg off an iron donkey - on, and on he drones...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The one Argy I'd like us to buy (apart from the Mascher) is Riquelme. What a fantastic player he is, such vision, intelligence, and technique. Physically tough as old boots too, if praps a little fragile mentally

He's the kind of no. 10 I'd love to see playing for us

Brilliantly, Anny, as per usual :)

The Mexicans have been unsettling the Argies with lots of niggly fouls, but class tells in the end. Well worked fk, taken by Riquelme, in at the far post by 'Variety' Heinze 0 - 1 HT

Haha, i hope he'll be one of ours. Feck Thatcher, I love Argies, me :D

0 - 3 now

Sublime goal by Messi (has there been any player more inappropriately named than him?), and a cool, cheeky pen by my man Riquelme
