Ricflairandy.

Your post here and been brought to my attention by several people on here, and I'm surprised that you never contacted me directly yourself, but never mind.

Can you tell me the following:

1) - What colour was his hi-viz vest ?

2) - What number was on this hi-viz vest ?

3) - What did he look like ?

4) - How was he dressed ? Coat/jumper/ just a shirt

5) - What time was this about ?

6) - Where abouts in the ground did this happen ?

We have four groups of about 20 stewards each at different locations within the complex and if you can answer my questions then I've no doubt I can get a name for you to report them to the club if you so wish. We don't need this kind of stewarding anywhere.

Ta.

Could always have been the possibility it was one of the lads who dressed up as a steward?

This was my original thought, but if he can describe the steward especially the clothing, then we can sort this out.

I'd want to jump all over this guy Kev. Are there many of them like this? The whole thing with snatching the ticket sounded pretty outrageous to me...

There were a number of fans dressed in what looked like LFC attire. Just trying to find out the facts before making judgement or doing anything else.

Oh Jesus, that's unbelievable. I thought you were all joking about that. It actually happened?

I saw probably about 10 fans in fake gear, and by fake gear I mean a flourescent bib. But they were easily identifiable to the trained eye. We wore trousers, shirt and tie and the official hi-viz vest. They wore trainees, shorts, and a flourescent bib.

What scumbags.

Well I hope this whole saga helps cement the atitude amongst the true fans that there will be no tolerance from people like this. As well as no tolerance for the ones who abuse out of towners and everyone else who tarnish the reputation of our fans. It's something that ahs bothered me personally for a while to be honest. it's great to know that there has been such a negetoive reaction to this.

It may be one of the good things that come from this debacle.

Funny? Contributing to overcrowding in a stadium? If there is a club in the world who is cognizant of the dangers of overcrowding and crushing, it is us. I don't find it "funny" at all.

Another scenerio for you.

Just say this 'steward' had got hold of the ticket and legged it.

Would this still be in the 'funny' zone ?

No it wouldn't, that would be scumbag territory.

If they did that, then they're scumbags. If they got in with their home made steward vests, then that's funny.

But by all accounts, that nearly happened.

No.

out of interest, whose job was it to boot them out? the police? The police that night seemed too busy taking mobile phone pics to be arsed about the hassle going on around them.

Greek Police.

The Greek Police were more interested in searching bags/coats than checking tickets.

The Greek Stewards were unprepared.

Our duty was to assist the Greek stewards when we could. It's a nightmare to be honest, we are stuck in the middle of wanting to take over but unable to.
