Stevie H Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 today's mirror reckons that gerrard won't play. not sure what this is based on like.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Seen that alright, no basis from the comments that Rafa had quoted. I reckon Gerrard will start with Bellamy (Kuyt suspended) and go for them pretty early and then make changes at half time or slightly thereafter. Liverpool tend to start very very strong early on and then fade rather than start slow and come on strong so, IMHO
fildo Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Koeman to give youth a chance "PSV coach Ronald Koeman has named a youthful squad for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool on Wednesday. Koeman has included untried teenagers Rens van Eijden and Olivier ter Horst in his 18-man party following the withdrawal of several first-teamers through injury. Ibrahim Afellay, Jan Kromkamp, Edison Mendez, Michael Reiziger and Alex have all been ruled out of the trip to Anfield, while Alcides, John de Jong and Género Zeefuik are not eligible to play. Meanwhile, PSV had their lead at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie cut to just two points following a 2-1 defeat at NEC on Saturday" .............. With Mendez and Kromkamp out of an already depleted squad and while they are still in the hunt for their own league it might suggest that we might be able to rest a few players!
Montse Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 PSV have a lot of injury worries by the looks of things... Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Any news on Kone - he is the one threat they do have to hit stealthly on the counter attack. I notice he is not mentioned in the absent list .................
R A Softlad Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Notice they went with 'Gerrard Dropped' not rested Hopefully they aren't going for a sensationalist headline and they just have Sen as guest editor.
CarraLegend Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Any news on Kone - he is the one threat they do have to hit stealthly on the counter attack. I notice he is not mentioned in the absent list ................. That'd be because he isnt absent
Guest Snorky Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 That'd be because he isnt absent So does that mean he's travelled then ?
Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) Given the absentee list, the one bright spot for PSV - given they need a shedload of goals, would be the fitness of Kone. Given there has been no news about him returning, I would have thought he is out but the list does not include him - strange ! I mean, you'd think journalists would specifically ask the question as if PSV could have one player back for the Anfield game and they could choose between Kone and Alex - it would have to be Kone given the task at hand............ He played at the weekend. He's s*** anyway, he's an even worse version of Cisse. His finishing is dreadful.
Sion Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 PSV travel to England with a 16-man squad as Alex, Ibrahim Afellay, Edison Mendes, Michael Reiziger, Alcides and Jan Kromkamp are all sidelined. So they're not even filling the subs bench
Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 He played at the weekend. He's s*** anyway, he's an even worse version of Cisse. His finishing is dreadful. Erratic is the word you are after me thinks - agree in general and 4 goals would be pushing it but they he is one of their best hopes even if its not a great hope. Thanks for the update that he played at the weekend though.
Guest Snorky Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 So they're not even filling the subs bench They never in the first leg.
Scorpion Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Just placed a bet for a PSV 5-0 win and a 9-1 win.....very long odds.
Sion Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 a 9-1 win.....very long odds. I would have given u odds of; The Deeds to my House/1 on that score
Sheida V Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Does anyone know where we can see a list of players suspended and on the brink of suspension for our game and also the other games?
Bailo Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Isn't Agger as well? Maybe see him rested? It's surprising Rafa didn't get all our players on yellow cards to get themselves booked other than Kuyt.
Guest Prongsy Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 DOWNLOAD PSV press conference. (50.9mb Zip) Windows users will require VLC to play this.

It's surprising Rafa didn't get all our players on yellow cards to get themselves booked other than Kuyt. Nah its just Pennant. In the next round it'd be nice if our players cheat like crazy in the first leg and get Drogba, Ballack, Diarra and Joe Cole banned for the return

IgPig Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 (edited) Pepe Reina on the 1st leg "It was a good night in Eindhoven and the only pain in the a*** for us was the injury to Fabio Aurelio, which upset all of us!" echo what does a*** sound like in a Spanish accent?
