Liverpool v Chelsea from 14th December 1986 is on at 1pm today on ESPN Classic (442 on Sky).

Just thought I'd post it for the doleites, skivers, sickies and those 'working from home' ;)

"And 'you-know-who' has scored, and you know what that means so I'm not going to tell you, as its becoming the most boring statistic in modern football."

yesterday the times looked at years when teams came from behind to win the title - we were behind chelsea with 14 games to go - chelsea were 3rd, i was surprised they were that high in the 80s

Would have been one of Jim Beglin's last games for us as it would have been quite soon after that that he had his leg broken by that blues**** Stevens.

Wasn't the game live on television on a Sunday? I seem to remember in those days the televised games tended to be played in half empty grounds.

was defo a sunday, but not sure if all games on sunday's were as poorly attended. I do remember sunday games were considered very alien in those days though - you couldn't go shopping etc like you can today, and it was very much a day where nothing happened at all, very much a family day I think.

could be talking poo of course, but that's how i recall it.
