Hello there. Just wanted to say it's Christmas and we play a lot of games round about now. Have done for ages and will do for ages. It's what we do. Thank you.

Just because we've always done it, does it neccessarily mean that it's right?

message from Rafa:

'sammywho?'

I pay your wages

What's really harsh is how the Premier League insist that we are the only team which do it while all the other teams only have to play half the games

so you reckon Rafa wants Liverpool players exclusively to have a more reasonable workload?

Which is the point I was making. As opposed to the point that being as everyone does it then it equalises the effects. Yeah players can't recover or whatever but this is a time of year loads of people look forward to footywise and it's a great tradition.

Three years on the bounce now Rafa, come on! Do you have some sort of annual amnesia that means you wake up every Dec 20, look at the fixture list and think "Bloodyos Ellos"

The New Years Day one is the killer, nearly always is, for fans and players. The early kick off is even more inane with how hard it is to get about. The 48hr gap is ridiculous and not needed, most managers have complained about it, why not play them all on the 2nd?

Like me, many people are in work on the second. I may conceed the point based on what match going fans think though. I am tired of benitez metioning it every year though

The 2nd is a public holiday (no it aint, that was last yr! scrap it or play them evening then), I just think trying to get about after NYE to watch half a side, or a teams going half pace because they've not recovered does nobody any favours. Sat-Tue-Sat-Tue should be ok, we do it through the season, but chuck in the 3 games in two days at the end and it is too much, it aint just Rafa all the managers are at it. 2nd or third season in a row Arsenal have pulled out an ok run btw.

it can be a real pain to be honest......this year we have one at Anfield and Blackburn...but Spurs away

Because of family circumstances I cant go today (my son is ill) but I cant say i am that arsed....i felt rotten this morning due to too much booze and being woken at 04.00 with my son screaming

it can become too much if u go to every game.......i dont see whay we cant just have the satursday (or sunday if it falls on Xmas day) and the following week

3 games is too much

Rafa wouldn't keep mentioning it if he wasn't asked about it every single year, it's not like he goes out of his way to talk about the fixture list because by now I'm sure he's resigned to the fact that it has to be done that way, whether right or wrong.

that's as maybe. but i'd like to think Rafa prioritises his players' physical condition over the wishes of the fans.

Well players are supposed to be so much fitter than in days gone by, yet no one moaned years ago. All the teams have it the same so where is the problem.

just because it happens doesnt mean it is right

I think you'll find there was plenty of moaning years ago, but those were the days that if you missed the match you first found out about it in the paper the next day.

What we should have is a break between the third and fourth rounds of the FA Cup.
