Odd, but I doubt it, and sort of hope for it and against it. Underdogs were us and we overcame. Hopefully, with the new money etc, we'll not be underdogs in the same way. meaning that it wouldn't ever be the same. Indeed, while 5 is great and all, imagine how we'd feel about it had we been 3-1 up with half an hour to play and dominating the game (oh, hang on, AC were...). It wouldn't be the same.

That night encapsulated sport at it's widest level. The unexpected, the unknown, the twists, turns, drama, emotion and all of it far beyond what was going on in Istanbul. In a world where everything is "leaked" in advance and we have become immune to all manner of news items, the sheer drama of that night reminded me how great sport is at generating emotion. On the one hand there's the "destiny" (much like Cathy Freeman in Sydney), on the other the "effort/odds" (England winning the WC in Oz with the ref seemingly giving Oz everything for the extra period). That night had both

The fact that it was LFC put it on a different plane altogether, mind. With the money Dubai gives us (hopefully), the destiny bit may be lessened to "expected"...
